Help the College launch a new forum
Dear ACAAI Members,

The College is ready to launch a new member benefit – and we need your help.

We’re excited to announce the College has partnered with DocMatter to create a web-based, virtual Community for high-quality, clinical and practice management discussions and networking among College members.

This new, free member benefit will enable our physician members (including FITs), to easily and freely engage with each other and solicit feedback on difficult patient cases, coding and reimbursement questions, treatment options, and other important issues for the practicing allergist.

To ensure the safety and integrity of the Community, the site will be closely monitored by a physician and will not include advertising of any kind. In addition, ACAAI member data, posts, and responses are secure, and will never be sold or shared with any third parties.

The DocMatter platform and customer service team will provide personalized support and organize discussions by topic area to help facilitate efficient collaboration and increase future reference ability. We would like to note two important aspects of the ACAAI DocMatter Community:

1. You will be paired with a DocMatter Clinician Advocate who will be your liaison to DocMatter and available for technical questions and support; and

2. The Community is completely private and only accessible by other College members, so you can freely have open discussions.

All member accounts will be activated prior to our Annual Meeting, but we would like to offer “Early Adopter” access to anyone who is excited to take part in the ACAAI Community. If you would like to be among the first to join, please  email Molly Calhoun, the lead DocMatter Clinician Advocate for the ACAAI DocMatter Community, by 6:00 pm PT, on Friday, September 27, 2019.

Molly will then follow up to schedule a brief, 10-minute introductory phone call to bring you in to the ACAAI Community and show you how everything works. She'll also help you customize your experience based on your clinical interests and expertise, and choose your communication preferences (emails, email digests, mobile app, website, etc.). If for any reason you wish not to participate, you can let them know at that time.

Several other professional medical societies – including the American Rhinologic Society – have engaged DocMatter to manage their online physician communities with tremendous success. You can view a brief video showcasing how users really like and utilize the platform.

Thank you in advance for being an Early Adopter in this project. We’re certain this partnership will enhance your practice and believe your participation will help make this project a huge success!

If you have any questions about this new exciting initiative of the College, please feel free to contact Dr. Michael Blaiss, ACAAI Executive Medical Director.

Warm regards,

Todd Mahr, MD, FACAAI
President
