West Middle School set a new school record for the number of students who placed in the Minnesota State Fair art competition.
"I have taken my Shakopee students artwork to the Minnesota State Fair for the last 20 years," said Jane Smith, Art Teacher at West Middle School. "I have had winners every year, but never this many in a single year."
22 students placed in the competition, following their hard work and team work during the 2018-19 school year. They competed against more than 3,000 students from around the state.
"I am so proud of my students perseverance in the creative process," added Smith. "They worked so well together to create a beautiful work of art."
