New workshop topics and dates!

Many of you have been asking when I’ll be running my next workshop.

My workshops are like buses.

You wait ages for the one you want, and then three come along at once!

I’m delighted to announce three new workshop dates.

On 17 October I’m being joined by Sarah Thomas, a fabulous copywriter, to offer Business Blogging with Intent, designed to get you moving on your blogging journey.

This workshop is very special because you get not one, but two, expert workshop leaders.

On 23 October I’m running my popular Get Your Pricing Right workshop, which helps you do exactly what the title suggests!

And then on 20 November I’m introducing my new workshop Show Up Without Showing Off, to help you build confidence in your competence - and speak compellingly about your business.

Please do take a few minutes to explore the content of each workshop, and consider which of them will best help to propel your business forward.

What are you worth?

Last week I had a very proud moment.

One of my clients told me she had asked for more money - and got it!

This client has struggled to ask for what she’s worth.

Financial difficulties mean that money had assumed a huge significance.

But the more she needed, the less she felt able to ask for.

As my client demonstrated, if money is an issue in the business it may show up at a practical level, but the blockage is nearly always in the mind.

I’ve addressed this with her over the course of a number of coaching sessions.

We’ve explored her emotional barriers to root out the belief of lack of self-worth.

And we’ve also discussed some practical tools to help with pricing and negotiating.

So you can understand why I was delighted that she had asked for, and received, more money!

If this is something you struggle with, my Get Your Pricing Right workshop is probably just what you need.

It’s OK to be resistant!

From time to time one of my clients will avoid doing their homework!

When this happens, I get curious.

Because resistance can come from many different places.

Sometimes it's a shift of priorities - a new client, ill-health, a family issue.

Often it denotes an underlying issue.

Recently, two separate clients failed to produce the article they had committed to write.

So I got curious!

Turns out, they had quite different issues.

Client 1 sounded like she was suffering from imposter syndrome:

"Who am I to hold myself out as an expert?”

Yet when I dug deeper, it turned out the planned article didn’t sit comfortably with her values.

After a few minutes we identified what she was happy to write about instead.

Client 2 was struggling to get clear on her message:

“What can I say that people will want to read?”

A few minutes spent revisiting the purpose of her article (profile-raising) and reframing her message to make it more relevant were all that was needed.

If you’re struggling with something, get curious.

Understanding why it’s a struggle may just unlock the answer to what you need to do instead.

Pioneers wanted for Business Quest!

People who run their own business face two key challenges.

Isolation, and lack of accountability.

It can be a very lonely feeling being the business owner, with nobody to lean on or to bounce ideas off.

And it can sometimes be hard to get motivated to take action when there is nobody to nag you, cheer you on, or celebrate achievement.

Coaching can definitely help, but I know that not everyone can afford or justify the cost of ongoing coaching.

Workshops are great for one-off injections of ideas and energy, but it's hard to maintain momentum.

So I’ve been wondering what I can do to address the situation.

My proposed solution is a membership Facebook Group.

For a small monthly subscription, members will join a community of small business owners that provides:

- Peer support facilitated by an expert coach to provide:
- A safe space to ask for help
- A place to commit to action and be held accountable
- A group with which to celebrate successes
- Access to tools, techniques and advice

with the aim of helping you to drive your business forward to achieve greater success.

I’m looking for 10 pioneers to help me shape this Business Quest.

And I’m asking you, my loyal subscribers, because I want to support you most.

Will you help?

I envisage that your commitment will entail a few emails, a handful of conference calls, and a month or two of trialling the group before it goes live.

Your input will ensure that the Quest delivers what you need, how you need it, when you need it.

And in exchange for your time and input, you will benefit from 3 months free membership once the group is launched.

Does this interest you?
