"SERVANTS OF ALL"
As we celebrated our Ushers' Appreciation program under the theme "Servants of All," Melida Smith Byrd shared her ministry of music with an original and fitting selection,
"Only What You Do For Christ Will Last."

"UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT"

"UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT" by Rev. Paul A. Hill (Luke 16:1-13)

REFLECTION

BEING A BLESSING
(Author Unknown)

I knelt to pray when day was done
And prayed, "O Lord, bless everyone,
Lift from each saddened heart the pain
And let the sick be well again."

And then I woke another day
And carelessly went on my way,
The whole day long I did not try
To wipe a tear from any eye.

I did not try to share the load
Of any brother on the road.
I did not even go to see
The sick man just next door to me.

Yet once again when day was done
I prayed, "O Lord, bless everyone."
But as I prayed, into my ear
There came a voice that whispered clear,

"Pause now, my son, before you pray.
Whom have you tried to bless today?
God's sweetest blessing always go
By hands that serve him here below."

And then I hid my face and cried,
"Forgive me, God, I have not tried,
But let me live another day
And I will live the way I pray."

"UNITY SUNDAY"

This last Sunday in September 2019 is a 5th Sunday, and at Holman we celebrate "Unity Sunday."  We gather on this 16th Sunday after Pentecost, beginning with a time of fellowship at our Unity Breakfast.  Our Faith Formation Forum follows, with a special presentation by the Faith Foster Families Network (a faith-driven collaborative established "to provide resources, well-being and safety for families and children impacted by the child welfare system") as we celebrate the launching of this faith collaborative.
We join in worship at 11 am.  The Holman Singers will lead us in the ministry of music.  Rev. Paul A. Hill will bring the morning message under the sermon title "Giving Them What They Are Due," with Mark 10:13-16 as his scripture reference.
May we gather in unity to worship and celebrate our Omnipotent, Omnipresent, and Omniscient God!!

So powerful is the light of unity
that it can illuminate the whole earth.”
                                                                                                            Baha'u'llah

Keep up with Holman UMC!
