Library Dedicates $1.3 Million Claire's Courtyard
(TOPEKA) Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library invites the community to celebrate the grand opening and dedication of Claire's Courtyard on Tuesday, Oct. 8. The Studio Strings Quartet performance beings at 10 a.m. with remarks and a ribbon cutting ceremony at 10:30 a.m.

Claire's Courtyard will be open to tour the sunroom, patio and amphitheater between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. Donors who purchased a brick for the amphitheater will be assisted in finding their brick. Construction of Claire's Courtyard was funded by The Library Foundation through a generous gift from Glenn Swogger Jr., MD, as a tribute to his late wife Claire.

The open house will also include tours of the new Learning Center and Plaza lobby. The Learning Center offers opportunities to learn through play with technology classes, art activities, games, creativity experiences and book discussions. The Plaza features browsing for best sellers and the latest movies in addition to the customer service desk, copy center and checkout kiosks.
