A Message to You from the
Barbolian Fields Fan Club Headquarters
September 24, 2019
Greetings, Friends!

It's hard to believe it's already fall when it seemed like only yesterday that I was writing about spring. Somehow spring rolled into summer, the garden exploded, I scurried around a lot, and now the winds are blowing through and whisking the leaves right off the trees again.

I finally got around to writing about some of this: "Garden Overwhelm, Equinox, & Finding Balance."

If you are like me and some 19 million other people out there (or more), you, too, might be experiencing Garden Overwhelm. Yes, according to Google, it's a real thing. It's kind of like when life collides with your multiple, unrealistic To-Do lists. I have had a serious case of Garden Overwhelm since last spring. Maybe earlier. Yes, last Christmas was a blur. And now we are headed there again already!

So - I figured that since this is the time of year when night equals day (more or less), it would be a good time to think about equilibrium. This post explores how to get back on track, and when all else fails, how your dog just might have the answers. I know mine does.

I also share a lot of pictures of our totally overgrown garden that is choked with morning glory (because don't you get tired of these garden blogs with immaculate perfect gardens?? Nah, me neither...)  - and I also share some amazing pictures of our very talented granddaughter doing flips and handstands as easily as walking on two feet (because sharing photos of grandkids is what grandmas do).

Website Changes
You might notice I made a few changes on the website. I went there one day and noticed all my galleries of photos were missing. Hmmm. Took me several days to figure it out, I did a lot of work for nothing in the process, and I'm still not completely happy with it, but at least it all works now. Feedback is always welcome. It's given me a chance to simplify things a bit and think about how Barbolian Fields has evolved from a garlic farm to what it is now - and also where we might want it to go next.

I added a column on the right that lists what we're harvesting. There's a lot! If you are interested in anything on the list, feel free to contact me! So much abundance at this time of year!

The Greenhouse & Solexx
I'm having fun getting the greenhouse ready for winter. If you're cosidering building a greenhouse, check out my Solexx pages. This is a perfect time. I'm hoping to share more updates on ours in the future. It's been a life-changer. This year, the passion flowers really took over! Talk about gorgeous!

Speaking of Solexx, the company is currently promoting tree guards to prevent scald, predator (deer, rodents, etc.) damage, added insulation, and other benefits. Fall is a great time to plant trees, so if you are interested in protecting the trunks, send me an email. I will get more info about them up on the web soon.

 * * *
I'm trying to keep this short - so just want to say thank you for your friendship! I look forward to getting back into doing more crafting and writing, now that the gardening season is settling down a bit. I absolutely love the fall! Hope you all are getting a chance to get out and enjoy it and are having a wonderful Autumn Equinox!

Best wishes!
Blythe
This was crazy!  I was up in the tree picking plums (actually, Italian prunes) and found a bird nest. Inside, several plums had fallen exactly as if they had been laid there. :-)
