Featuring POC artists, aiming to invest directly into East Portland’s creative economy. Celebrating local artists, entrepreneurs, and small business owners in East Portland. Suggested donation is $5, and no one will be turned away from lack of funds.

QT-POC Draw Night is Coming!

The first Sunday of the month, Queer/Trans BIPOC are invited to the IPRC at 6:30pm for an evening of light snacks and amazing company. Bring a sketch book, canvas, quilt, or an iPad & make something.

Lisa Jarrett and Lehua Taitano, CO-founders of Art 25, traveled to Oahu, Hawai’i, to talk story and collaborate with artist Jocelyn Kapumealani Ng in her community of Honolulu. Together they focused on physical transformation, incorporating cultural mythologies, embodiments, and projections that represent present-day Future Ancestors.

The State of Womxn of Color - Portland

This is a special roadshow edition of Future for Us’s State of Womxn of Color, featuring a panel of local leaders. Commissioner Jo Ann Hardesty, Paige Hendrix Buckner and others will share personal experiences, discuss how womxn of color can navigate the world of work, and leave us with insights on negotiation, building community, and true allyship.

Excerpt: When an employee or contractor comes to you with an issue they’ve experienced, the worst thing you could do is say what someone else did or didn’t mean. You immediately denounce that person’s feelings and experience. Unless you have a crystal ball and can read minds accurately, you do not know the intentions or motives behind someone else’s behavior.
