Name: Eti-Inyene Godwin Akpan

Bio: Inyene is the founder of Sir Inyene Phottography and Photowaka Africa Development Initiative.


ETI-INYENE GODWIN AKPAN, popularly known as SIR Inyene, is a 25 years old documentary photographer with a difference, and one who is very passionate about capacity building for budding photographers. He is the Chief Executive Officer at the SIR Inyene Company. He is also the Founder and Executive Director of PhotoWaka Africa. 
He has been commissioned for projects by both individual and cooperate organisations like the Kwara State Government, Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, Starling Bank, Guinness Nigeria, Addax Petroleum, Coca-Cola Nigeria, and many others.  He has been featured on one of Nigeria's foremost newspapers; The Tribune Newspaper and the Guardian Newspaper. And his works has been published on both local and international platforms. SIR Inyene is also a Contributor to the Spark Magazine by BusinessDay Newspapers.
SIR Inyene is the winner of the 2019 #MyNaijaMyCanon competition. He is also the winner of the 2019 25Under25 Awards (under the category of hospitality and tourism). SIR Inyene is presently serving as the Lead Photographer for Social Good Lagos; a sub-community of the United Nations Foundation. He is also a member of the African Photo Journalism Database (APJD) and Professional Photographers of America (PPA).


The SIR Inyene Company is a media house located in Lagos, Nigeria. PhotoWaka Africa, which is a social enterprise focused on youth empowerment, creativity, job creation and creating a sustainable value chain in the photography and creative space. The vision of PhotoWaka Africa is to develop professionally inclined, engaging and highly creative community of visual storytellers around Africa, with the bodacious mission of telling African stories through photography thereby using photography as a tool to create more awareness about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

On August 17th 2019, the PhotoWaka Africa community attempted the Guinness World Record by converging 1,118 photographers in one spot for a photo walk. This event drew the attention of some international personalities that travelled from Texas, and other locations around the world. This was also possible with the support of the Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Lagos State Parks and Gardens Agency, Alat by Wema, amongst other sponsors and partners.
