Hi Central Members,

Autumn is here and the Area Festival finals are well under way. Huge congratulations to everyone who's qualified already and is on the way to the Area Festival Championships at Hartpury College in Spring. And good luck to those who are still to compete! We'd love to see your photos if you have any please send them in. 

The Central Committee have been busy organising some fantastic training days for the next few months. Continue reading for more information on the training opportunities we have coming up in the Central Region. 



BD Central Training

BD Central Bookwhen. Whatever level you are working at, you can take advantage of the regular training dates which are organised throughout Central region. All our training is open to everyone so come along and enjoy some great dressage training. 

Go Freestyle Demo 
Saturday 2 November

At Swallowfield EC
 
With List 1 Judge, Richard Baldwin. Open to all, an interactive afternoon of live demo riders through the levels, with Richard providing commentary and tips on creative movements to maximise the marks for your floor plans in order to gain those extra marks and improve your scores. Notebooks a must!

The afternoon gets off with a glass of mulled wine on arrival at 2.30pm. Following the demo there will be a delicious hot supper at 4.45pm with a fund raising raffle organised by BD Central.

A fab autumn afternoon out and chance to socialise with your horsey friends!

We have two fantastic days organised, one in the South and one in the North of the Region. 

These training session will be a combined look at the training and judging of horses from young horse through to Grand-Prix level, with a Rider and a Tutor Judge.

Quest Test Riding Workshop

A fantastic opportunity to bring your horse and have a one to one pre test warm up coaching session with BDCC L4 coach Jo Swain, then have your test judged by List 1 BD judge Richard Baldwin.

After your test, you have a chance to go through any movements, re do your test and see how to improve on those vital marks. Sessions are 40 minutes long. (20 minutes with Jo) then 20 minutes with Richard.

 

GB Rider Gareth Hughes

One for the diary! An interactive day watching GB Rider Gareth Hughes train his horses. This is an amazing opportunity not to be missed.

Gareth will train a selection of horses whilst discussing his training process with the group. Monday 9 December from 10am -1pm.

Mechanical Horse
Rider Training


9 November and 7 December
Sparsholt College

Mechanical horse simulators are a revolutionary way to help riders of all levels develop and focus their skills without interfering or impacting a live horse. Rider asymmetries, aid mistakes and new movements can be quickly taught and resolved with the help of the Simulator.

Sessions can also be useful for riders returning from injury or operations.

  • 30 min sessions
  • All sessions will run in the morning
 
   

Judge Induction Day


9 November at Onley Grounds

 A great informative day with Deputy Judges Director Jane Peberdy! Jane will also be able to give information about the new exam process.
 

This is an official trainee judges induction day. All current trainees will need to attend an Induction Day in order to remain on the Trainee Judges List.

Judges planning on upgrading are very welcome to attend as preparation for the judges exam. All other judges are also welcome as a refresher.

BD Youth Half-Term Day Camps 🌟


Don't forget we have two 1 Day Youth Camps running in the Autumn Half-Term. One in the North and one in the South of the Region! 

South of the Region  - Wednesday 30 October at  Sparsholt College.

Day Camp includes:

  • Paired lessons with Claire Moir
  • Paired mechanical horse session
  • Stable management with Central Youth Ambassador Melissa Dawes
  • Lunch
  • Day stable


 
North of the Region  - Friday 1 November at Swallowfield EC.

Day Camp includes:

  • One to One Coached & Rider Skills Test Session
  • Shared Pole Work Session
  • How to Plan your Competition Pathway Session
  • Weigh Bridge & Horse Nutrition
  • Day stables, including 2 bales of shavings.

 
 

 

Central Coaches Club

Conversations with Spencer Wilton 

Following the successful launch of the Central Coaches Club we are excited to announce three sessions with Spencer Wilton Olympic and WEG GB medallist at Fairoak Grange EC. 1 October 19 November and 10 December.  

Come and join a small informal group discussion around coaches topics. The agenda will be led by the attendees who are asked to submit questions or themes in advance.

Possible topics are people who in the early years influenced him as a rider and as a coach, his training philosophy, training different types of riders, World Class Pathway and the road to Rio and Tryon, managing sponsors and owners.

£20 for one evening or £45 for all three. Book here!

Practice your coaching with Adam Kemp!

Join us for these coach development days on: 7 November, 12 December and 6 February

A small group of coaches will work with demo riders to coach short lessons in the indoor school. Riders will reflect a range of levels both in stage of horse development and training and in terms of different types of riders.
Coaches will then receive feedback from Adam and join in a group discussion on the coaching topics raised.

This is a great way to prepare for or consider a UKCC qualification or just to expand your knowledge of coaching techniques.

Senior Home International 

Congratulations to all the Central riders selected to ride for Team Central at the 2019 Senior Home International! And a big thank you to everyone who applied. We had a huge, record breaking number of applications and the standard was extremely high across the region 💚 We also have a list of reserve riders across all levels.

This year the Senior Home International is being held in the Central Region at Wellington Riding, Hampshire 18-20 October. Come and support and cheer the Central Teams on!

We had some fantastic Team placings and many amazing individual results throughout the week! Congratulations everyone :) fab results for team Central and great riding!

The Advance Medium team came 3rd. Congratulations to Melissa Dawes, Harry Corkett, Sofia Jankiewicz and Rose McMillan.

A win for the Elementary team! Huge well done to Amy Aufiero, Demi Howard -Cartwright, Emily Collings and India Keates-Robinson.
4th for the Prelim Team congratulations Eva-Lily Drake, Gemma Guest, Megan Field and Nalani King!
 
5th for the Novice Team, fantastic result Eliza Mackworth-Praed, Alice Lamburn, India Keates-Robinson and Megan Field!
