In the spirit of "the world is run by those who show up", we're happy to share a few opportunities
for you to do just that!
Democrat Lunch Bunch: Tuesday, October 1st
Thanks to Kim Spangrude's efforts, we have a fantastic group of speakers scheduled for the presentation
tomorrow at noon. Where we came from, where we are now, where we are going, that's
what our Immigration Panel will discuss at the Montrose Library Meeting Room.
All are welcome! Questions? Contact Cindy Buttermore at 417-4183.
Outreach Action Workshop: Sunday, October 20th
If you haven't already done so, please register today for our upcoming
Outreach Action Workshop and Senate Forum.
It will be held on Sunday, October 20th, starting at 11:00 AM, at Centennial Middle
School, 1100 S 5th Street in Montrose.
We will gather with fellow Democrats from Delta, Garfield, Mesa, Pitkin, Ouray, and San Miguel counties!
Morgan Carroll from Colorado Democrats will be
with us to provide training on various aspects of getting out the vote in 2020, including:
VAN Training
Voter Registration
Messaging
People 2 People
A candidates forum will begin at 2:00 PM so you can hear from the candidates running for U.S. Senate!
Coffee, iced tea and cookies will be available. We are not allowed to charge for this event, so we are
unable to provide lunch. Consider bringing your own sack lunch.
Meet & Greet: Tuesday, October 22 at 5:30 PM
Along with great food, beverages and our always-popular door prizes, we have an exciting lineup of guest speakers
planned for our gathering at Two Rascals Brewing Company, 147 North 1st Street in Montrose.
Our keynote speaker is Lesley Smith, our newly-elected Democratic CU Regent. Lesley
has spent nearly 30 years as a scientist and educator at CU. While writing her PhD dissertation at the University
of Maryland she became the first female aquanaut in The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s
underwater research habitat, Aquarius. Lesley will discuss the challenges higher education faces in Colorado.
It is way past time to retire "Tippy Toes" Tipton, who has 95.7% voting record in line with the corrupt
current occupant in the White House! We have two highly-qualified candidates who will share their vision
on how to win back the U.S. House District CD3 in 2020:
Root Rutledge is a Vietnam veteran with a Master’s degree from CSU. He is an
outdoorsman, successful forester, rancher, has raised racehorses, and is a progressive Democrat with
expertise in environmental studies.
Donald Valdez is currently a Democratic member of the Colorado House of Representatives,
representing District 62. He also has a background in farming and ranching, and was a deputy sheriff
in Conejos County.
Bring along a friend... the public is always welcome!
