📷 4 Pictures That Capture It All...

What a week at SCY High!

1: Sam Kleper using our new Bonim B'Yachad platform
Starting this year, SCY High has joined the many prestigious Jewish schools across North America in partnering with Bonim B'Yachad. Bonim B'Yachad is an Israeli high tech startup which connects students in North America with experienced educators in Israel who share their expertise in various fields via their online learning platform. They have been featured in The Jerusalem Post, The Algemeiner, J-Weekly, and a number of other news outlets for their cutting-edge platform and educational model. At this time, SCY High is partnering with Bonim B'Yachad to offer AP Computer Science A, a college-level computer programming course, and AP US Government. Bonim B'Yachad not only provides our students with an exceptional educational opportunity, but it does so in a way that connects them to academics and experts in Israel. We call that a Win-Win!

2: Ilan Horn, Jordan Rezmovich, and Greg Eiseman learning with Rabbi Loffman as part of the "Early Morning Bachur" program
School may start at 7:40 am but that doesn't mean that Torah learning can't get started earlier! Rabbi Loffman's signature Early Morning Bachur program promises hot chocolate and warm Torah to students who commit to arriving a little early for some extra-curricular Torah. The program started with just a few committed students and has now grown to over 1/3 of the school! You know what they say... The early bird gets hot chocolate :)

3: Netanel Dimenstein making a presentation to "voters" as part of a recent mock Israeli election
As part of their Hebrew courses, students were assigned Israeli political parties and were tasked with researching those parties' platforms. Students prepared election speeches and even created campaign flyers and other materials. In the end, Bibi Netanyahu's Likud won the most seats - congratulations to Ilan Horn, leader of Likud!

4: Sam Kleper (Student Council Treasurer) and Elie Kemp (Student Council President) showing off the ingredients of their popular root beer floats
As part of their commitment to enhancing student life, student council recently began offering root beer floats for sale to the student body. The nominal price of $1 for a root beer float is yet another throwback to a simpler time... But those dollars are going toward a great cause, as the student council plans to use the funds raised from this and other food sales toward an exciting surprise event for SCY High's student body!
