Hydro storage has continued to decline over the last week, with national hydro storage sitting at 87% of average. Much of this decline has been observed in Lake Pukaki, which has dropped from 60% of full to 55%, while storage in other lakes such as Tekapo and Hawea has remained level with the previous week.
Demand has dropped away as we head out of cold winter weather, although we still expect to experience the odd cold snap. The periods of calmer weather also meant lower wind generation at times, contributing 5% of total generation over the last 7 days.
