We are very pleased to invite you to an exciting event and one that I'm very proud to be part of.  On November 14th we will celebrate the 30th anniversary of HELP for Domestic Workers empowering domestic workers through advice and assistance, education and advocacy to help them gain the justice they deserve.

You can expect a memorable evening that includes delicious canapes, free flow drinks and insights from Senior Reporter  Jennifer Creery and Human Rights Lawyer Patricia Ho.  You will also have the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful photography of Leeh Ann Hidalgo along with her own story of  life as a Domestic Worker.

Leeh Ann Hidalgo is a Domestic Worker by day and a Photographer by night. Before moving here, she studied biology at university and worked as a high school teacher back home in the Philippines. She will share her story of how photography became a personal therapy and a challenge and how she is determined to tell unheard stories and to make domestic workers “visible” to all

 

Patricia Ho is a Hong Kong based human rights lawyer. She was raised in Hong Kong in a cross-culture family, and developed a preoccupation for standing up for what’s right at a young age. Much of her work involves defending the rights of minority groups, including domestic workers,  in Hong Kong by way of challenging government policies and law in judicial reviews.
