Rural Electric Co-ops
I'm excited to share that out of 80 applicants, I was one of the 35 chosen for the Cooperative Energy Democracy Fellowship with the non-profit We Own It Network. The mission of the We Own It Network is "Catalyzing citizen action for democracy, participation, and excellence in cooperatives, through member education and organizing." Just what SC co-ops need right now! (Click here to read about scandals and new regulations.)

Thank you to the member owners who offered signatures to support my application for the Cooperative Energy Democracy Fellowship. This class of fellows are from all over the continental US, Alaska, and even one person in Zimbabwe! The first four months include online training, research, lectures, small group work, coaching and writing papers to develop an organizing campaign.

If your energy provider is an electric co-op, I'd love to hear from you! Please click here to fill out this short form to assist with my research. If you'd like to learn more about Rural Electric Co-ops (REC), plan to attend the REC Reform Virtual Summit: October 28, 2-6pm ET. The conference will take place via zoom conferencing. Response to an Environmental Hazard Can Vary—Depending on Where You Live.

Did you know our zip codes can help predict certain things—including the impact of having an environmental hazard in close proximity to where we reside?

Join us for an important dialogue about environmental injustice in our own community ... and examples of how people of faith can effect positive, measurable change.
