Dear Friends,

By now most of you know about the 4- alarm fire in the Castro early on Saturday morning. Our hearts go out to those who lost their homes and the four businesses who have suffered damage. We are also concerned about the impact this fire will have on the Castro, as Supervisor Mandelman has said on facebook, "The Castro is already experiencing significant challenges with vacant storefronts and quality of life issues and this fire is an additional burden that the neighborhood doesn’t need. The city, and my office, are here to help everyone affected by the fire and to help them return as quickly as possible."
