Get Your Indivisible MA T-Shirt
You can continue the momentum started by the Indivisibles who were delegates to the Massachusetts Democratic Convention and get your own Indivisible MA T-shirt to wear to events!

You’ll have many upcoming opportunities to wear your Indivisible MA T-shirt such as to lobby days, local town events, rallies on the Common, various marches, town parades and the like.

When you wear an Indivisible MA T-shirt you’re wearing a recognized brand of activism that says that you care and are organized, involved, and impactful.

Elizabeth Warren is in the know, and when she saw two of our delegates wearing their Indivisible MA T-shirts at the Convention she said to them before the selfies were taken, “Indivisible, I love Indivisible!”

To order your T-shirt ($20) tell us the quantity and size (Medium, Large, XLarge or XXLarge), and send your request via email to debbie@indivisible-ma.org or ppoindexterpup@gmail.com.

We are sold out of small sizes but with enough requests we’ll order more.

Read the Whistleblower Memo
CBS has obtained the full text of the whistleblower memo and it is even more alarming than what was first revealed. Senior level officials were “shaken” by its deeply disturbing content. We can read the full text of the whistleblower memo, then call our representatives to demand they support impeachment. Let’s also call the White House daily to call for Trump’s resignation: 202-456-1111.

Tell the Senate You Support Impeachment
As the House proceeds with the impeachment inquiry, there is much work to be done to ensure that the Senate also holds Trump accountable if the House votes to impeach the president. Indivisible has created a call tool to help us contact voters in key states and connect them with their senators.

Let's call our own senators to tell them that we support impeachment and want them to support a free and fair trial. Then let's sign up at Indivisible to make calls to other voters:

Pressure Banks to Divest from the Private Prison Sector
Some good news: more and more major banks are pulling investments from the private prison sector, leaving major players in the private prison industry such as the GEO Group in the lurch after all their lenders have pulled out. So far, JPMorgan Chase, Wells Fargo, Bank of America, SunTrust, BNP Paribas, Fifth Third Bancorp, Barclays, and PNC have totally divested from private prisons and immigrant detention.

Let’s pressure these banks to follow their lead.
  • Regions: 800-734-4667
  • Citizens: 401- 456-7000
  • Pinnacle Bank: 800-264-3613
  • First Tennessee Bank: 800-382-5465
  • Synovus Bank: 706-641-6462

Support the Home is Here Campaign for DACA Recipients
A coalition of organizations have joined together to create the Home is Here campaign and raise awareness about the Supreme Court case regarding Trump's termination of the DACA program. As of July, 2018, there are approximately 700,000 recipients of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). If the Supreme Court rules in favor of the Trump administration, it could mean deportation and family separation on a massive scale.

Still, many are unaware that the case is set to begin in November. Let's check out the Home is Here website, and use the tools available to share the campaign on social media, help fund DACA renewals, and sign up to attend the Home is Here Rally at the Supreme Court. We can also contact our member of Congress and urge them to pass legislation which would create a path to citizenship for DACA recipients ASAP.

Thank Dick's Sporting Goods for Destroying Assault Weapons
After Dick’s Sporting Goods decided not to sell assault weapons, they destroyed their inventory, which has sparked backlash from the NRA. Let’s show our support by publicly thanking Dick’s on Facebook and Twitter (@DICKS).  We can also check out their website, make a purchase, or send a note of thanks to customer service

Tell MA Lobster Men to Use Rope-less Gear
Not only are North Atlantic Right Whales (NARW) critically endangered, but they are dying at heartbreaking rates. Two percent of the population died this summer. Most NARW die due to entanglements and ship strikes. We have the technology to solve this problem: rope-less gear.

Please sign this petition to let MA Lobster men know that they need to use rope-less gear. This is good for whales and good for the planet (check the article, one whale is worth a thousand trees).

Join Indivisible in Andover to Plan 2020 Actions
The 2020 elections are just months away. No need to panic. Let’s make a plan!

This month’s agenda is designed to help you come up with a personal strategy for the the 2020 elections –- how to choose the candidates you want to support and how to choose the actions you want to take to support them.

Our guest speaker, Michelle Olsen, is founder of elect535.org, a website you can use to build a portfolio of the candidates you want to support for federal House and Senate seats, based on up-to-date profiles of the candidates and their districts.

How to turn that strategy into action? We’ve got some ideas! The second half of the meeting will be a quick briefing on ways you can step up to join us including:
  • Writing postcards
  • Texting
  • Fundraising
  • Lobbying
  • Canvassing
  • Phone banking
  • Voter registration: partnering with outreach groups in key swing districts both in MA and out of state
No need to wait until 2020 to help flip it blue. These actions are underway and we already are having a positive impact!

Doors open at 6:30 PM for signing in and socializing, and the meeting will begin promptly at 6:45 PM. Your beverage, snack, or dessert contributions are always appreciated!

Please join us. All are welcome!

RSVP here.

Help Train Organizers for 2020
As many of us who have volunteered for campaigns have seen, field organizers typically come from affluent backgrounds. They do not look like or relate to the lives of residents of low income, inner-city neighborhoods. Organizing Corps 2020 is recruiting and training 1,000 local organizers from diverse backgrounds to work on the 2020 presidential campaign in key battleground states.

Meet Meg Ansara, founder of Organizing Corps, at one of these three fundraising events.

Online Training for Person-to-Person Fundraising
Raising money for progressive candidates is the most effective thing you can do to flip the Senate (and hang onto the House) in 2020. Learn how to make a personal “pitch” to a friend or colleague. Learn from the pros at 31st Street Swing Left!

About the Trainers and Training
This training will be conducted by Lynn Fletcher, Mary Pence and Lisa Herrick, who head up the fundraising component of 31st Street Swing Left, a chapter based in the DC/MD/VA area.

31st Street Swing Left raised over $1,024,000 for Congressional and Senate races in 2018. As of October 1, they have raised more than $242,000 for the 2019 Virginia legislative races.

The training will take you from where you are (“I hate to ask for money”) to where you need to go (“Using a data-driven approach, I developed my own thought-out dialogue for making a personal ask” – an actual comment from a training participant.)

RSVP here for the call-in details and to preview the 31st Street Swing Left fundraising toolkit.

Democracy in Chains: The Deep History of the Radical Right's Stealth Plan for America

[MacLean] has dug deep into her material—not just Buchanan’s voluminous, unsorted papers, but other archives, too—and she has made powerful and disturbing use of it all. . . .
