As society moves forward in the age of technology, the improper disposal of electronic waste, or e-waste, has become a growing problem around the world. In recognition of E-Waste Awareness Day, we encourage everyone to reduce the amount of e-waste found in our garbage and dispose of it properly.

2019 Annual Maintenance Baseyard Storm Water Training Champions

Congratulations to the Oahu District Motor Pool for winning the Annual Maintenance Baseyard Storm Water Training Quiz Competition! The training and quiz event took place in July, with heavy competition between the 13 maintenance crews.

In February, HDOT was awarded the Environmental Hero Award by the City and County of Honolulu’s Department of Facility Maintenance, Storm Water Quality Branch for their exceptional service in water pollution prevention.

Our Storm Water team visited Kaala Elementary School’s third-graders on Wednesday, September 25, 2019. The students learned about the importance of keeping Oahu’s storm drains clean and how they can do their part to keep our oceans trash-free.
