There is a dedicated website which includes a quiz you can take to give yourself a personalised plan to improve your well being.

A range of downloadable resources is also available at the Public Health England Resource Centre

Dear Colleagues,

As you will be aware as part of the Physician Associate (PA) preceptorship programme for primary care, a national group of HEE has developed a PA preceptorship evaluation which consists of three surveys (pre, mid and post to be completed by the PA, clinical supervisor and practice manager). It is an expectation that as part of the preceptorship programme each of the professions will commit to completing the three evaluation surveys which will enable HEE to evaluate the effectiveness of the preceptorship programme.

We have now launched the mid-point survey, which ideally PAs, their supervisors and practice managers will complete 4-8 months into the preceptorship programme. The link can be found here:

https://healtheducationyh.onlinesurveys.ac.uk/mid-preceptorship-programme-for-pas-in-primary-car

We would be grateful if you could share this link with the preceptees and their managers and ask if this can be completed by 30 November 2019.

Regards,
Primary & Community Care Team

100 Voices Campaign

The Elective Care Transformation programme have launched a patient experience initiative for eye services and need your support to ensure the experience of patients across the country is captured and shared.

Please encourage your hospital eye services to identify patients in your local health economy who would like to tell their story of using hospital eye services since April 2018. Experiences can be shared via our online form. With support from the Royal National Institute for Blind People, the Macular Society and the International Glaucoma Association, the insights from 100 voices will be used to inform the redesign of ophthalmology services.

We are the NHS campaign shines light on nursing

NHS England and NHS Improvement have launched the next phase of ‘We are the NHS’. The campaign aims to increase the number of people considering a career in nursing and support those currently working as NHS nurses by shining a light on the incredible work they do, and their contribution to delivering The NHS Long Term Plan and NHS People Plan, released earlier this year.

A key focus this year will be to support the recruitment of A-level students applying to university through UCAS, career switchers and school students making A-level decisions and starting to think about careers. There are several ways you can support the campaign: with a quote or by sharing social media posts using the hashtag #WeAreTheNHS.

Call for evidence into review of pharmacy aseptic services now open

NHS England and NHS Improvement have launched a call for evidence to inform the development of strategic recommendations for future aseptic services across England and are inviting you to consider submitting evidence. The aim of the review is to deliver safer, more efficient and more resilient aseptic services, improve patient care, and meet the growth in demand for chemotherapy and clinical trials outlined in The NHS Long Term Plan.

Submissions and any questions about the review must be emailed to nhsi.asepticmedicines@nhs.net by 5pm on 31 October 2019. You may be invited to give verbal evidence in November 2019.

What does The Long Term Plan mean for urgent and emergency care delivery?

With winter fast approaching the system is working hard to prepare for what may be a difficult time of year with the potential challenges of a tough flu season and the possibility of operating in a post EU exit landscape.

In this blog, Pauline Philip, National Director for Emergency and Elective Care for NHS England and NHS Improvement, discusses delivering the vision of the Urgent and Emergency Care Long Term Plan objectives in the operational reality of challenged capacity, higher demand, and an ageing population with increasingly complex health needs, and the priorities in the short term.
