Last week, government, business and civil society leaders agreed that time is running out for the world to achieve the UN's 2030 agenda to transform the world through the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
And the strongest message coming out of the myriad of meetings held in and around the UN last week to discuss the SDGs? That the only way they will be achieved will be through collaboration at every level.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said:
"I am calling on civil society, grassroot organizations, media, private sector, unions, academia and others to mobilize partnerships like never before."
On 15 and 16 April 2020, the UN Association of Australia will bring together UN agencies and Australian civil society, business, academia and government who are building - or want to build - sustainable partnerships to progress the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
This event - to be held at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) - will play a key role in determining how much Australia will contribute to the achievement of the SDGs. We invite you all to be part of this important, agenda-setting event.
