CDT is at the Drill Hall Gallery Saturday 19 October at 7.00pm

Dance meets Art – an evening of delicious dance featuring new works from ballet to contemporary, set against the latest exhibition at the Drill Hall Gallery!

Highlights include a solo by Georgia Powley and a new work by Dominique Wood-Ward for CDT’s ballet performance group. There will be new works by Revel, CDT’s contemporary dance performance group; the Hilal Dance group; Gretel Burgess and Amy Macris will perform a comical duet; classical dance piano music by Gemma McKeown; and the GOLD dancers will reprise Grande Finale, one of their most striking works!

Canapés and wine included in the ticket price – come and enjoy a sophisticated immersive dance experience in the company of Canberra Dance Theatre.

Playing Up FLASH MOB – Saturday 7 December in City Walk
Have you ever been part of a FLASH MOB?
Whether you are a seasoned ‘mobber’ or your secret desire is yet to be realised, you are invited to be part of a FLASH MOB that CDT will be staging on Saturday 7 December.
Important Dates: Sunday 24 November and Sunday 1 December, 11.30-1.30pm: come to one or both of these rehearsals to learn a fun funky dance. Choreographed by Jake Kuzma and including elements of hip hop, disco and aerobics, the dance will be accessible to all. Cost for each rehearsal is Concession $12, Full $15.
Saturday 7 December: final rehearsal at CDT studios at 9.00am before dancers take to the street for performances in City Walk starting around 11.00am.
For those who are super keen to be prepared, a video of the dance will be available on the CDT website from early November.
Jake, our fabulous choreographer, is a Canberra local and former member of QL2. His dancing roots are in contemporary, floor work and urban movement. A graduate of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), Jake’s performance, choreography and teaching have taken him around Australia and to Canada and China. Read more about Jake at

The MOON is back!!!

Liz Lea has invited CDT groups to perform moon related works at Canberra College on 24 November, 5pm, with a tech rehearsal before hand, SO Dominique Wood-Ward is planning to re-stage her work "First the Moon". This is a 5  minute work first performed at CapExpo and then again at the CDT Winter House Party. 
!!!Rehearsals are proposed to be November: Thursday 7th (7.30-9.00pm) or Saturday 9th (3.00-4.30pm) for dancers new to the work and Thursday 14th (7.30-9.00pm) AND Saturday 16th (3.00-4.30pm) for all dancers for this performance. There will also be a run through of the dance after class on Thursday 21st (7.30pm) and on Saturday 24th November (1.30pm).
!!!Cost will be one dance class / rehearsal. 
If you are interested in performing in this work*, please either leave your name with our admin volunteers or let Dominique know. Also tell us if the proposed rehearsal times work for you.

!!!*Dancers must have a minimum of three years’ experience and be of at least elementary level.

Adult Ballet

Experience the joy of graceful movement in a ballet class designed for older dancers, beginners to more experienced. No bookings required, with Georgia Powley ( Royal New Zealand Ballet). Wear comfortable exercise clothes, or dance wear if you have it. Arrive about 15 minutes ahead to register for the class. Open to all!
