Sales for the month of September were $2,977.28.
$400 of that figure represents two sales made for the MLAA Fall Show. We did not collect for commission on the MLAA sales but we did collect taxes and the 4% credit card transaction fee.

Time to start on your Shop Small Holiday gift items  to get them ready in time.

DEADLINE:
Holiday items must be delivered to the gallery by Nov. 24th and will be left in the gallery until January 1st
FYI: GALLERY DETAILS
 
  • PLEASE STAPLE THE CREDIT CARD SLIP TO THE BACK OF THE SALES SLIP.  We need to make copies and if the credit card slip is on the front, it requires it being torn off and stapled to the back. This makes extra work for the hard working Treasurers. Take pity on us. Remember, the white copy goes into the bank bag and the yellow to the  customer.  Again, the yellow copy doesn’t make good copies and requires copying it by hand after the hard copy is made. As a courtesy to the artist, ask the customer to provide their name, address and email address on the sales slip.  
 
  • The toilet in the back sometimes keeps running. Listen for a minute and if it does not stop running, then take off the back of the tank and jiggle the clapper until it seats.  
 
  • Applications for new artists are in the Orange binder in the bottom drawer of the grey file cabinet behind the desk.  We are currently at capacity but welcome artists to apply in the event an opening is created. Look around and familiarize yourself with where things are. 
 
  • Remember, do not eat at the desk or keep a lot of bags, etc. in view of the customer. Eat the bench so you can tuck things away when customers come in. Be professional, you are our representation of the gallery.  Smile, smile, smile.  
 
  • Remember to turn off the small spots on the back wall before leaving.
 
  • When the Fire Inspector came in, we were required to remove all electrical extensions and only have things plugged directly into the surge protector. As a result,  Carol Culpepper’s displays have been moved out of the center and to the back wall.  
 
  • The card and print display has been relocated to the storage area and all prints have been relocated to the print rack. MLAA will use the space above Carol’s display. A $25 donation will be required for a new artist to use the print racks. Everyone who has cards now has a card rack to go below their art.
