Volunteer Spotlight

Shelley Cincotta
Shelley Cincotta has been a volunteer at Learning Ally since 2018. She is currently part of the Learning Ally's Literature community and Textbook community.
Shelley's son who is dyslexic has been using the Learning Ally app for 5 years to read higher level books every day. This inspired Shelley to contribute to helping other children with learning difference learn how to love reading.

Tech Tips- How To Use This Course!

So you've signed up to volunteer and received a link to a training site. What now? Well, the good news is that the courses begin with a lesson on lessons. So, start reading! One of the most important things you'll find is a short (less than five minute) video: How To Use This Course.

The training video will explain the different parts of the lessons, what kind of content you'll find there, how to complete lessons and move forward.

October is Dyslexia Awareness Month

October is International Dyslexia Awareness Month. By taking our dyslexia awareness quiz, you help us better inform others about dyslexia and advocate for the importance of getting students the support and services they need to thrive in school.

At Learning Ally, we are proud to serve students with dyslexia—to see them transform from struggling readers to successful scholars. I know helping students who are blind, visually impaired or have a reading based learning difference like dyslexia matters to you—I’ve seen your generous support as a member of the Learning Ally community. So today I invite you to engage more deeply with our work by taking our short quiz! Take the quiz to deepen your understanding of dyslexia and the people it affects—and help spread awareness by sharing the quiz with your family and friends on your social media channels.
