 IMPORTANT DATES

  • November 28th and 30th - Partnership Place Closed for Thanksgiving
  • March 2nd, 2020 - Johnston Chopped!
JOHNSTON GIVES

The Partnership, in collaboration with Johnston Community School District, is heading up the gift giving program which is called Johnston Gives. Johnston Gives strengthens our community bond as the gifts send a message of care and support to those receiving the gifts.  Paying for basic needs such as rent, food and utilities can take up all of a family’s resources. This gift giving program allows parents to give their children a special gift they wouldn’t otherwise be able to afford.

Families that need some help with holiday gifts can sign up their children for the program and complete a "wish list" for the child.   The wish list cards will be available by November 12th for community members that want to help out a family in need.  The wish cards will be available at the Johnston Library, Johnston Charter Bank and several Johnston schools.  Community members can also contact the Partnership andrea@johnstonpartnership.org to get a wish card. Monetary donations are also welcome and will be used to fill Wish Cards.  We ask that the gifts be returned to the location where their wish card was picked up by December 11th.   The Partnership volunteers will then distribute the gifts to the respective families
.
Horizon Elementary held their Cy-Hawk Donation Challenge in September. Students collected and donated over 2000 personal care items and individually wrapped snacks for the Johnston Partnership! The Hawkeyes won the donation challenge, but we think you are all winners! Thank you Horizon Elementary!
GIVE THANKS! GIVE A TURKEY!

Every Thanksgiving, the Johnston Partnership accepts monetary donations for a voucher for a whole turkey or bone-in turkey breast that is provided to each family that receives their monthly box from us in the month of November. Side dish items such as instant mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, canned pumpkin and gravy mixes will be available as part of the food pantry selections for the month. The Holidays can be particularly stressful for those in need. In addition to the monthly emergency food supplies and clothing, we strive to provide a Thanksgiving turkey for each family that we serve.

Can you help us out this year?

We welcome monetary donations to offset the cost for each whole turkey ($13 each) or bone-in turkey breast ($10 each). Donations can be dropped off in person during our operating hours; they can be mailed to PO Box 975, Johnston, IA 50131 or donations can be made online via our website www.johnstonpartnership.org by clicking on the Donate button in the top left corner. You can also donate through our Facebook page. Contact Andrea at 515-868-1357 or andrea@johnstonpartnership.org with additional questions.

Clothing Donations
