Two invitations for our members and supporters

Next weekend, you are invited to the opening of Anne Ward's new show, with a private view on Saturday 12th from noon till 2pm:

And in November, Lyme Regis painter Christine Allison is offering two workshops at the Museum in Lyme:

Artists’ workshops at Lyme Regis Museum

Lyme Regis Museum and artist Christine Allison are collaborating with two unique workshops. Artists of all abilities are invited to spend a day in the museum working from the museum exhibits. The museum will be closed to the general public on each of two dates, giving artists freedom to study and draw from the diverse human artefacts and pre-historic fossil and geological displays. The education room will also be available for messier work.

The theme for each day will be to find a starting point from an item in the museum collection and take that object on an inspired journey. What may begin as a fragment of china or a ladies glove or an ichthyosaur’s fossilised eye may later become a large abstract painting or a sculpture or a textile back home in your studio. The journey is the key and Christine will prompt you through each stage.

There will be a maximum of 10 places in each one-day workshop.

Dates: Tuesday 12 November or Tuesday 19 November 2019
10.30am - 4.30pm with a break for lunch
Cost: £40 per one-day workshop plus the cost of an adult entry into the museum (which lasts for a year so you can come back as often as you like.)

Book your place at Lyme Regis Museum on 01297 443370 stating which date you prefer.
Ask Christine any questions about the day by email at christine@christineallison.com
