Healthy Food, Locally
Blue Bermondsey BID is pleased to be part of Good Food Retail in partnership with London Borough of Southwark and Rice Marketing.
The concept of good food retail is part of the new London Food Strategy and is aimed at supporting local businesses to promote and encourage healthy eating options in the local community.
The pilot scheme was launched in the Blue on Monday 14th October 2019 with a visit from Cllr Evelyn Akoto, Cabinet member for Community Safety and Public Health, to Nisa Local and St James's supermarket, the first two shops to sign up as ambassadors for The Blue Bermondsey Good Food Retail.

Nisa Local in Southwark Park Road has embraced the Good Food Retail concept from the very beginning of the project.
The supermarket stocks a good range of fresh fruit and veg and a wide-ranging selection of healthy snacks, as well as many low sugar refreshment options.

Illuminate Rotherhithe Lantern Workshops
2019 sees Illuminate Rotherhithe and Bermondsey first joint free public Lantern Processions on 29th November. Gather from 3.30 pm at Market Place in The Blue, Bermondsey, and from 4.00 pm at St Mary's Churchyard Gardens, Rotherhithe
In preparation for the parade, there will be two free Make Your Own Lantern workshops in The Blue in October and November.
