Welcome Officer Suarez
The safety of your children and our employees is a top priority in Hillsborough County Public Schools. As you know, new state laws require an armed, trained, first responder on every school campus during the school day beginning in the 2018-2019 school year.  Lutz Prep was fortunate last year to have Officer Vito assigned to our school; over the summer he was promoted within the Hillsborough County School District Security Department.  We wish him the best and miss having him on our campus.

Since the start of the 2019-20 school year, we have had a few temporary school resource officers assigned to our campus.  We are thrilled to have our permanent assignment finalized with Officer Suarez.  His is a former NYC police officer and he officially began his duty at Lutz Preparatory this past Friday.  Please welcome Officer Suarez to our LP Team.

Bolts of Blue Campaign Update

The final countdown week is here!  We have just five days left to meet our fundraising goal as our Bolts of Blue Campaign ends on Friday, October 11, 2019.  We are beyond excited at how close we are to our $130,000 goal.  We are sincerely thankful to our Lutz Preparatory community for your amazingly generous donations to our campaign so far.

We are thrilled to report that as of this morning we have raised $116,927!  Just $13,000 from our goal with 5 days left.  None of this would be possible without your support.  THANK YOU!

The final day to donate is Friday, October 11th for all incentives and homeroom participation.

Homeroom Classes Who Met the $1800 and/or 100% Participation Goal
Several of our classrooms who have not met the goal are within a few hundred dollars of reaching $1800 or are just a few students short of meeting 100% participation (minimum donation to be considered for HR participation is $50) by each student.

Additional congratulations to our 1st, 4th, 5th, and 7th grade teams as all homerooms in those grades have met the 100% participation and/or $1800 goal.  Let's keep the ball rolling and have every grade meet their goals.

All homerooms who reach their goals will receive classroom prizes fun dress days.

All Pro Dad's Breakfast
Hey Dads and Kids...Great breakfast last month!  Let's keep it going.  Join us for October's Lutz Prep/Lutz Pre-Prep All Pro Dad - Dad’s and Kid’s Breakfast.  This month's topic is "Creativity".  Big Idea: Creativity is how we express ourselves and use our minds, gifts, and abilities to better our lives and our community. It allows us to address challenges and provide solutions. It’s important to nurture creativity in our children.

Team up with other Lutz Prep dads and kids for a quick before-school breakfast on Wednesday, October 9:  doors open at 7:00 AM, program starts at 7:15 AM, and ends at 7:45 AM. It’s fun and it’s free.  You and your kids will be glad you came!  Great way to start the morning.  Contact Ryan Martin with any questions.

2019-20 PTA Reflections Program - Entries Due October 21st

The National PTA Reflections program encourages students of all grades and abilities to explore and be involved in the arts. Students reflect on a common theme and create original works of art in the categories of film production, literature, music composition, photography and visual arts.

Lutz Prep PTA is excited to announce our participation in the National PTA Reflections program again this year. The 2019-2020 theme is: Look Within. For more information watch this video.

Entries are due to Lutz Preparatory by Monday, October 21, 2019. For an overview of the type of entries, please click HERE for all the details.

Details on the rules, submission requirements, and paperwork needed for submission can be found HERE.

Also, every entry must be submitted with a copy of the work on a thumb drive. Submissions without thumb drives will be considered for Lutz Prep’s program, but they will not be moved to the county level.

How Can You Help Us Meet Our Fundraising Goal?
If we look to our community and extended Lutz Preparatory supporters by spreading the word to businesses that support education we can without a doubt exceed our campaign goal!  Please consider the following examples of additional ways to support Lutz Preparatory.

Friends and Family Sample Letter for Donations
We have had a few parents ask for a sample letter to help their child(ren) spread the word to friends and family regarding the campaign.  Click HERE for a sample letter.

Check with Your Employer to See if they Match Donations
Many of our parents' employers will match dollar-for-dollar donations to non-profit organizations like Lutz Prep.  Check with your HR department to see if they offer this benefit.  We also encourage our families to reach out to local businesses in your community for sponsorships in addition to potential employer matching benefits.

Share on Facebook and Other Social Meeting to Your Friends, Family, and Community
Have you checked out our new Lutz Preparatory School Facebook page?
