Reminders and Updates
This edition of the newsletter is a reminder that our neighborhood's Carefest Project is Saturday, Oct. 12.
For the second year, we are partnering with with the Allendale Methodist Church to further clean up, beautify, and enhance the church grounds which anchor our neighborhood.
The project is scheduled for 8:00 to 11:00 am. Refreshments and water will be provided. Feel free to come late or leave early; we just want you to join the gathering. The church is a good neighbor and can use our help.
Volunteers are needed for:
- Trimming: Trim shrubs and trees. Tools needed: shears, loppers, hand saws, power hedge trimmers, gloves.
- Weeding: Pull weeds and overgrown grass. Define beds. Tools: hand shears, hand shovels, spaded shoves, gloves.
- Clean-up: Gather debris and deposit in dumpster. Tools: leaf rakes, tarps, wheelbarrows, gloves.
- Mulching: Mulch beds after trimmers and weeders are finished. Tools: mulch shovels, pitch forks, rakes, wheelbarrows.
- Planting: Plant new shrubs. Tools: spades, shovels.
- Gardeners: Fill the new community garden with topsoil and mulch. Tools: shovels, pitch forks, wheelbarrows.
When you arrive, please check in at the back of the church on 11th Street with Nina Light or Jim Stitt for an assignment. Bring tools if you have them; don't worry if you don't, just come anyway.

Garage Sale Planned: Nov. 16
We have scheduled the Annual Garage Sale. It will take place on Saturday, November 16, 2019 from 8:00 am until 2:00 pm. A big Thank-You to Kammeron Findley for hosting this event!

Block Party: Saturday, Nov. 2
Our Annual Neighbor Block Party will be on Saturday, Nov. 2 between noon and 3 p.m. There will be food and music and entertainment. Watch for a letter coming to you with all the details about our 13th annual party.
