This is a small wool wall tapestry representing a memory from my Canadian childhood, sitting on the shores of Lake Superior in the moonlight.

Ekaterina Popova
Philadelphia, PA
|||
My name is Ekaterina Popova, and I usually go by Kat. I was born in Vladimir, Russia, and lived there until 2001. After moving to the United States with my mom, I completely fell in love with painting. Eventually, I went on to receive a Bachelor's degree from the Kutztown University of Pennsylvania. I show my work internationally and am represented by Decorazon Gallery. I love painting messy bedrooms, my own home, personal items, and everyday messes. I find beauty in seemingly mundane scenes and try to capture a mood by the use of colour and texture. I recently moved to a large studio in Philadelphia and am so grateful to have so much space to create in. I painted a few of my walls pink and am currently working on my plant collection! Doing something creative each day is like breathing for me. It is an absolutely essential part of my journey. I started out creating solid ink drawings which grew into whimsical, illustrative type art and now am enjoying creating abstracts. You learn something new each time you create and try a new product or idea. My goal is to reach a larger audience and do more commission work.
