Prizes handed out to Northwich In Bloom competition winners

Six of Northwich’s businesses have been celebrating after receiving prizes for their entries into an ‘In Bloom’ competition.

In August, the Northwich Business Improvement District (BID) laid down a challenge to retailers to become the ‘Best Dressed Business’ or ‘Best Dressed Pub’ in conjunction with the town’s bid to triumph at the North West in Bloom Awards.
Entrants embraced creativity as they decorated windows, gardens, bars, shop fronts and shopping areas to wow customers and visitors, with voting taking place over on the Visit Northwich Facebook page.

Voting was very tight but as with any competition, there could only be one winner of each category. Follow the link to see who won!

There's still time to get involved with Fiver Fest

As you might have already seen, the Totally Locally initiative is running Fiver Fest this autumn.

A campaign centred around promoting independent shops and businesses, it runs from Saturday 5th – Saturday 12th October and encourages retailers to run offers and deals for £5 throughout the week.

The aim of this is to celebrate independent shops and encourage people to pay them a visit.
So far a range of Northwich’s independent businesses have pledged to get involved with Fiver Fest and their offers will be shared this week via the Visit Northwich Facebook page to its thousands of followers.

If you aren’t yet involved though don’t worry! You still have time to create an offer or two and jump on-board with the campaign.

To join in, simply email Stephanie.Leese@groundwork.org.uk with your offer or deal so we know you’re taking part and also post about it via your own social channels.

That way the BID can share the details of the offer out across Facebook or Twitter.

To learn more about the initiative as a whole, head to the Fiver Fest website.

Last chance to help Northwich win a national competition

As you know, Northwich is once again bidding to become a Rising Star in The Great British High Street (GBHS) Awards 2019.
At the beginning of September, judges from the GBHS Awards team visited Northwich to learn more about our entry and to judge the town against a certain criteria.
Their grading makes up 80% of the total score however 20% is purely down to the votes from the general public – this is where you come in!

Voting closes today so there is still time to vote for Northwich to help the town win a national award.

It’s quick and easy and each email address used can vote once per day. So, please let your colleagues know about the awards because every single vote could make all the difference.

Business sponsorship opportunity

Are you looking for an opportunity to get your business name out there?

The Witton Albion U11s Girls team, which has only just started, is trying to find a sponsor ahead of their league term beginning this November.
Your company could be advertised on the following:
  • Match kit
  • Training/Home kit
  • Website page
The club also takes part in the Guardian’s annual sports supplement pages where you could also be advertised.

On top of this, there are also opportunities to sponsor individual elements of the different kits following formal discussions.

The kit would be worn by the girls for a period of two years.

Interested? If so, please call Sue Campbell on 07739 392 608.
Please can you make sure that this E-Bulletin is forwarded on to all your members of staff, we'd like as many people as possible to learn about the great events, initiatives and businesses that are in our fantastic town.
