Welcome to October 2019 Arc of the Piedmont's newsletter!
After 50 years on Park Street it was time to "turn the corner" and move our location and our focus to prepare ourselves for the next 50 years. While it will always be important to remember the struggles, the challenges and the rewards of the past, it is equally important that we continue to grow, adapt and advocate for the future. The Arc has moved into its' new home at 1149 Rose Hill Drive!

We will continue to expand services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, seeking out new partnerships as with the Kindness Cafe & Bennett's Village and hope you will join us in reaching out to our community to work together for inclusion for all.

The Developmental Disability Coalition (The Arc of the Piedmont, WorkSource Enterprises, the Virginia Institute of Autism and the Region Ten Community Services Board ) is hosting a
'Coffee & Chat" Candidates Forum on Tuesday, October 15th
6-8 PM at our 1149 Rose Hill location.
Please join us and your local General Assembly candidates
discuss and answer questions about developmental disabilities.

Run/walk begins: 11:00 a.m.
Check-in/costume pick-up begins: 9:30 a.m.
Start & Finish Lines: Downtown Mall in front of City Hall
Distance: Approximately 1 mile
Event Day:
Registrants receive a Santa suit for adults and elf ears for children.
Please arrive to the check-in location at the Sprint Pavilion on the Downtown Mall between 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. to receive your costume and turn in any donations if necessary.
No paper tickets are necessary.
Enjoy lite snacks starting at 9:30 a.m. before the run/walk begins.
Participants will follow the 1-mile route beginning and finishing
at the Sprint Pavilion on the Downtown Mall.
Spectators are welcome along the Mall and along the 1-mile route.
Santa Run takes place rain, snow, or shine! Unfortunately, no refunds.
