The 3-part webinar series presented by Dr. Paula Kluth will explore the categories of action, expression, representation, and engagement for a variety of students that a teacher may encounter in a classroom. The focus will be on options that support students sharing what they know and can do. Sessions will also look at ways for presenting material, boosting comprehension, and making concepts accessible and “sticky.” Finally, participants will examine ideas for creating “moments” in lessons, and teaching to fascinations. "Introduction to Creating Accessible Documents"

Making accessible documents allows individuals who use a screen reader to have equal access to information that most of us take for granted. Public agencies are required to have accessible online documents but the staff designing them or writing the content do not always understand what makes them accessible. This course will provide participants with an understanding of the importance of creating accessible documents from both a legal and ethical standpoint. Hands-on practice is included. This is a free webinar series that will also be available for inservice credit (registration closes November 12). Learn more and register below:

"Teaching Secondary Transition Digital Literacy Skills to Students with Disabilities"

 
This course is designed to equip educators with the knowledge to teach students with disabilities many of the needed computer skills to excel in a digital world. The goal of digital literacy is to teach and assess digital concepts and skills so that students can use computer technology in everyday life to develop new social and economic opportunities. Teachers will be exposed to a range of computer technology and how this technology can be taught to prepare students to access employment and postsecondary education opportunities. There are two tracks of this course - (1) Employment and (2) College. Syllabi and registration are available at Idaho Training Clearinghouse. (Credit registration closes November 12.)
