E-newsletter  |  October 2019

This October’s update contains news of some fantastic special offers for sports fans and likewise for local businesses looking to benefit from the upcoming influx of visitors for special events and for the quickly approaching festive season.

With the NRL 2019 season done and dusted, sports fans are now turning their attention to the launch of the next A-League competition and the start of the Western Sydney Wanderers FC campaign to take home the prize for the 2019/20 season. With the first game of the season played at Parramatta’s Bankwest Stadium now complete, Round 3 is scheduled for this Saturday, 26th October. Transport for NSW has been working with local businesses to get ready for the crowds of football fans that will be flooding into the area for the entire season through the Activate Parramatta plan which is full of great ideas and initiatives for local businesses. Game day offers will be promoted through the Enjoy Game Day on Eat Street Campaign both in the media and online.

Parramatta’s Encore Beauty has been working with Realise Business advisors on marketing activities to bring people into their business. The team worked with Advisor, Sara Berry, to develop a special offer to help customers look their best with a tailor-made consultation to create the perfect complexion base. You can learn more by reading our featured case study about Encore Beauty and the three generations of women at the helm who are taking active steps to promote this amazing business to a new and diverse range of customers.

The month of October is Small Business Month in New South Wales. Great deals for fans heading to Bankwest Stadium

Transport for NSW has launched a marketing campaign to promote the ‘Eat Street’ dining district on Church Street Parramatta. Part of the Parramatta Light Rail program’s ‘Activate Parramatta’ plan, the latest ‘Enjoy Game Day on Eat Street’ campaign coincides with the start of the Western Sydney Wanderers FC season at Bankwest Stadium and aims to support local businesses ahead of and during construction of the light rail.

On game days, fans are encouraged to head to Parramatta’s popular dining strip to take advantage of the many special discounts and deals on offer at participating local cafes, bars, restaurants, retailers and accommodations. For some practical tips on how to capitalise on the Game Day influx of visitors review our Game Day Ready tip sheet which is filled with great marketing ideas along with key game dates for Parramatta businesses.

Attracting visitors to this part of Parramatta is key to capitalising on the vibrant and jovial atmosphere of game days and maintaining the area’s foot traffic and retail spend.  As well as regular advertising and promotions in local media, the program has created the definitive Eat Street Restaurant Guide, featuring more than 45 local eateries, to be distributed to the local community. A dedicated ‘Activate Parramatta’ website continues to provide an online showcase of all special game day offers.  The campaign will run for the duration of the A-League season, from October, 2019 to April, 2020.

Visit www.activateparramatta.com.au for details on participating businesses.

Encore Beauty shines with special offer

Realise Business has been working with Parramatta’s Encore Beauty team to develop a smart new special offer to attract customers into their Parramatta CBD premises.

Advisor Sara Berry believes that retail special offers are a great tool to add to the marketing mix. That’s because they can be linked in with seasonal and special events at a time when customers are more likely to focus and engage with promotional messages. For example, Christmas, Valentine’s Day and the upcoming Parramatta Game Day Activation all provide fantastic opportunities to attract more customers with special offers.
