Starts from 10.00 to 11.30 am with course closure 1.00 pm.

2. Only one more week to choose your teammate for the SA Interclub Relays, Sunday October 20th, Coromandel Valley Primary School
All orienteers are invited to come out and run around Coro Primary and Frank Smith Park +/- Blackwood Forest on Sunday October 20th at the club relays hosted by the Southern Arrows, South Australia’s elite orienteering squad: https://eventor.orienteering.asn.au/Events/Show/9161
All you have to do is to form teams of 2 – only one member of the team has to be a current financial member of your club - and let your club secretary know who you want to run with before Oct 14th. So encourage all your friends who haven’t orienteered in a while, to join you in a team. It’s also possible to form teams where nobody is a club member (enquiries to jenny.casanova@sa.gov.au ) although then your team won’t count towards the interclub trophy.
As was done previously, we have no age limitations and the choices are simply: men’s, women’s and mixed age classes on 4 different courses, which are approximately:
· 5.5km hard (split into 2 x 2.7 km, each person runs twice)
· 4.5km moderate/hard (split into 2 x 2.2km, each person runs twice)
· 3.5km moderate (split into 2 x 1.7km, each person runs twice)
· 2km easy – each person runs once only
Limited enter on the day options will be available; 2km easy or moderate. So, form a relay team now!!!
3. SI Cards for Sale
Robin Uppill has SI Card 8 – which are suitable for 95% of orienteers in SA.
These cost $45 and come in a range of colours.
Contact Robin on
aruppill@chariot.net.au if you would like to purchase one.
4. Orienteering SA Clothing
Robin Uppill has a few pairs of pants and a few other items (mainly very small).
A few people have requested purchasing jackets and shirts. If we have sufficient interest a new order could be placed. Costs are likely to be more than previously, partly because of the lower $AUS.
Contact Robin with your requirements on
aruppill@chariot.net.au if you are interested. A sizing chart can be provided.
5. Summer Development camp
The Summer Development camp is going to happen, but not in December this year. The plan was to have it the week before Christmas, but I had a lot of States point out to me, that there are many Schools still in Term up until the 20th, and that there isn't enough time to hold a camp before Christmas, and/or the Christmas 5 days.
What we do know is the Camp will be in NSW, in early January soon after the 5 days. Stay posted, more information will come to hand once we have secured an Accommodation/Event centre.
