PRAY for Bonita and Alberto who are full time global workers in Cuba. Alberto recently had cataract surgery but during the pre-surgery appointments he was diagnosed with prostate cancer. He will have surgery for this on October 22nd here in Canada. They are scheduled to return to Cuba on November 4th. They are grateful for your prayer support.
PRAY for Phil and Judy as they serve God in Conakry, Guinea. Here is an update from them:
Last Friday, we visited an amazing Leonian woman who has taken in 26 abandoned and orphaned children as her own. By faith, and her umbrella organization, they have been able to buy a property and build a home for all of them. It is amazing to experience the vibrant Christian love and faith that permeates that home! Yet they, and all their village--thousands of people--get all their drinking water from a small spring or a few small wells that run dry for half the year. Other water is from the polluted river. We were able to bring the good news that we will be able to build a well with her for the community! (Thank you, ERDO) This speaks loudly to this community of a God who loves and is active! She will be getting estimates this week and then we will see how best to proceed. Through a donation from a PAOC church in Canada we were able to provide rice and a new soccer ball to this home during our visit.
Prayer Requests from the Bowlers:
Pray that the drilling and repair companies hired are honest and effective. Also that the estimates for the work are reasonable.
The current Guinea government wants to change the constitution to allow them a third term in office. Wide-spread protests and a country wide strike against this are planned for next week and they are expected to be bad. Pray for common sense and the Prince of Peace to rule!
PRAISE update for Don Mann and his battle with cancer. Don and MJ report that his liver surgery went well. Continue to pray for full recovery as he needs to have colon surgery as well in order to remove the cancer that is located there. They are thankful for your love and prayer support.
