Five Australian friends attempt to cycle more than 1600 miles from Oklahoma to California in honor of the westward Dust Bowl migration undertaken by ‘The Grapes of Wrath’ Joad family. With little money and deep conversations with strangers, the cyclists expand on the novel’s core themes of migration, inequality and the perceived land of opportunity. Add some wicked Aussie humor, wild adventures, and wonderful cinematography, and you’ve got a film that can’t be missed. Q&A with Director Charlie Turnbull via Skype afterwards! Ithaca added yet another accolade to its claims to fame: The transportation research firm CityLab ranked cities by the share of commuters who don't drive alone to work. Guess which city ranked #1--not just for its size, but compared with all cities in the study??
