Many, many thanks to all the parents who have volunteered their time so far this season to help out the band!  From the chaperones who are at the students' sides, pluming, passing out water, making emergency uniform repairs, and generally supporting the them; Trailer Crew who built the props, load equipment each game and lug it all onto the field and off again; and Concessions volunteers who feed the masses and bring in the cash to make it all possible - We really couldn't put on a show each week without you!  Here is a small tribute to our parent volunteers.
TRAILER CREW and CONCESSIONS VOLUNTEERS
NEEDED FOR THIS WEEKEND

 
We are expecting a large crowd for Homecoming, so if you haven't had a chance to help out at an event for the band this year, please consider signing up to volunteer on Saturday.  Volunteers get into games for FREE, and it's a great way to meet other band parents and support the kids. Remember that all families are REQUIRED to sign up for at least 2 volunteer slots during the season.

NEW PROCEDURE THIS YEAR:
All volunteers please sign in at your stations (Chaperones, Concessions, Trailer Crew) so that you can get credit for your time.

ATTENTION: HOME GAME VOLUNTEERS
Please remember to pick up a field pass prior to entering the gate and signing in.  Badges are for volunteer use only and must be turned in before you leave.  As always, thank you for helping out!  

Pass locations for each area are as follows:
Chaperones: uniform room, small gray cabinet
Trailer Crew: large band trailer
Concessions: white cabinet in band room near the door
(where the band box is)

Pizza Fundraiser - October 15
Orders and Payment due THURSDAY
Support the Marching Patriots and enjoy an easy dinner at the same time!  Fresh, hot Giovanni's pizza will be delivered at the end of rehearsal on Oct 15 for you to take home. 
Plain (cheese) $12 each  
Pepperoni $15 each

Sales Now Open!!
Parents, Grandparents & Guardians, pay tribute to the hard-working student musician in your family with a “shout out” in the band concert program.  A special way to honor your graduating senior, or recognize the talents of anyone in the band. Shout Outs are only $20 per concert, and 50% of that goes into your student account, just like regular ads!  Download the order form on the

Homecoming Game Schedule
Report time will be 9:30 for an 11:00 kickoff. The band will play at halftime. CB South's band is planning to play the pregame show.

The Annual Trailer Crew Chili Cookoff will be held at halftime in the band room during the Homecoming game (Oct 12).  Signup for the Trailer Crew and enter your best!  All volunteers are welcome for tasting and voting on the winner!
Senior Recognition
October 19
Parents of underclassmen, please sign up to help that day (especially for Concessions) so the parents of seniors can enjoy their special day of recognition.
The annual Family Potluck will be held before the last competition on Oct. 26, time TBD.  A Signup Genius for needed items will be out next week.

Program Ad Sales Deadline

If you'd like to take advantage of the best way to put money in your student account, get your ads in by Oct. 15!  Contact Dori Amtmann for assistance.

Disney Trip Info

Parent meeting for those who have students going on the trip:
Tuesday, October 29, 7-8pm
Band Room


Bob Rogers Travel offers scholarships to assist families in paying for the cost of the trip.  Applications due Oct 18.  Visit Moments that Matter for information.

Also, we still need drivers for the equipment truck to Orlando. These drivers will depart on November 6, and meet us at the Disney resort. In the past, the drivers leave in the early hours of Sunday morning and drive straight through to East. For volunteering to drive a “luxurious” box truck to Orlando, the cost of the driver’s trip is fully covered, including meals/hotel during travel and the park experiences while we are in Orlando. Please contact Mike DeRosier if you’re interested in driving the equipment truck.

The next payment for Bob Rogers Travel is due on 10/7/19.  Please contact Treasurer Robin Dunckley at least 10 days prior if you wish to use student account money for this payment.

FUNDRAISING NEWS

Program Ad Sales 
Take advantage of the best way to put money in your student account by soliciting advertising from community businesses.  Advertising packets that include all the information you'll need for a professional presentation are available during camps, or you can print your own materials from the band website.  THE BACK COVER AND INSIDE BACK COVER HAVE BEEN SOLD!  A current list of this year's sponsors is available on the Advertiser Google Sheet.    Please do not duplicate solicitations to businesses/organizations that have already sponsored the group.  Please note: ads should be sent to Dori Amtmann at the new advertising email address CBEastMarchingBandAds@gmail.com.

Gift Card Program
It’s not too late to place an order for Disney Gift Cards!  Gift cards are a wonderful way to support the CB East Marching Patriots because they essentially don’t cost you a thing!  Go online to order gift cards to stores you normally shop in (or would like to try!), and then use those cards like cash when you shop.  In return, the Student and Band Accounts are credited with a percentage from every card sold, at no cost to you or the band.  The cards also make wonderful gifts - many of them can be purchased in denominations as low as $5 - $10. Visit the band website for more information on the program.  The next gift card deadline is October 8th.  Cards will be available for pick up by October 12th.
