Thursday, October 10 at 6 pm
Meet at 15th & Garden Streets
Hudson County Sierra Club & FBW will lead a waterfront walk through the natural landscape of Hoboken's north waterfront. Join fellow open space enthusiasts in getting a bit of exercise and fresh air as we connect with one another around our mutual love of the Hoboken waterfront, a true gem on the Hudson River. We will meet on the promenade next to Garden and 15th Street. We will cover the Weehawken Cove, the Monarch pier and Union Dry Dock along with broader issues about creating a public waterfront and restoring the natural habitats along the riverfront.

RAILYARD REDUX
Amended Railyard Redevelopment Plan
Public Meeting - Tuesday, October 15 at 7 pm
Hoboken Multi-Service Center
124 Grand Street, Hoboken
In what appeared to be a "railroad job," the Hoboken City Council was scheduled to cast its final vote to amend the Hoboken Railyard Redevelopment Plan on October 2, but Council members as well as the public had many questions and asked "why the rush?" As a result, the measure was tabled and a public meeting has been scheduled for October 15. The public session will be held the day before the City Council is again scheduled to vote on the Redevelopment Plan. The development of the Hoboken Railyards has been steeped in controversy from the beginning. The latest changes are in response to the final alignment of the Rebuild by Design floodwall at the south end of town. This wall cuts through the central portion of the redevelopment area. As a result, ELCOR, the developer, has proposed greatly increasing the height of an office building at the corner of Hudson Place and Hudson Street and a residential building at the foot of Washington Street south of Observer Highway.
