iEARN Projects and Activities

Girl Rising Project - Invitation to Participate!

In this project, students get to know nine unforgettable girls living in the developing world: ordinary girls who confront tremendous challenges and overcome nearly impossible odds to achieve their dreams and obtain a quality education. New in the project are discussions in Spanish and a story and film episode called "Brave Girl Rising - A Refugee Story." Join the project in the iEARN Collaboration Centre!

Daffodils and Tulips Project - Invitation to Participate!

Join the Daffodils and Tulips Project, now in its 14th year! In this project, classrooms around the world choose daffodils and/or tulip bulbs to plant during the same week in November. They then collect data on the various parameters (latitude, longitude, sunlight, temperature, etc.), tracking when they blossom and reporting to their group of global peers. To join the Daffodils and Tulips Project, visit it in the iEARN Collaboration Centre!

Global Math Project's Population Project - Invitation to Participate!

The Population project, a project housed within the Global Math project, welcomes all to join! This year's topics include researching consequences of overpopulation; discussing immigration/emigration issues; and examining measures that countries have taken to increase or decrease their rate of growth and the effectiveness of these measures. To join the Population Project, visit it in the iEARN Collaboration Centre's Global Math Project!

TOPA (The Olympics & Paralympics in Action) - Invitation to Participate!

This project aims to foster friendship, a spirit of encouragement, and unity in diversity through learning about the Olympic & Paralympic Games, especially their values, warmly welcoming and involving host nations with visiting athlete nations. Join this project for Tokyo2020, Japan at any time from May 2019 to June 2020, according to your academic year and own class situation in the iEARN Collaboration Centre here

The Parlour - Invitation to be a "Beta Tester!"

In this new project, small groups of students connect with each other via videoconferencing software to discuss specific topics, share a meal, or play a game. The project is still at the organizational stage, but if you'd like to be a "beta tester," fill out this short survey, or join the project's forum here in the iEARN Collaboration Centre.

iEARN Collaboration Centre Feedback

The iEARN-USA Technology Team is looking for some feedback on updates to the forums in the Collaboration Centre. They are exploring adding reactions to the forums to get students and teachers interacting in multiple ways. Reactions can help iEARN members recognize and congratulate others on their work and can help iEARN track engagement and activities in the forums. They would love any feedback you have on some potential reactions we have drafted for the iEARN community. Thanks for taking a look at the reactions and sharing any of your feedback/ideas by logging into your iEARN account and going here!
