Jackson's Community Needs You!

November 25th meal planning - Hospitality lead. Instructions and support provided. You need some comfort working on a computer and sending email reminders. Benefits the JMS staff working a 12-14 hour day.

Scholastic Book Fair November 19th thru 26th - Coordinator. Instructions and support provided. You need some availability during school hours November 18th & 19th and comfort communicating via email. Benefits the Jackson Middle School Library program.

GET READY FOR THE BERNSTEIN BASH!

Filling Up the Fundraising Buckets
With the Popcorn & Cookie Dough sale behind us, we need to focus on meeting our Bernstein Artful Learning annual commitment of $25,000 (net).  With that, we hope you will join us at the Bernstein Bash on November 15th at 6:00 pm at the Multnomah Arts Center.

This is our non-auction parents’ night out fundraiser for the Bernstein program. You can get more details and buy tickets on the Jackson PTA website here.
 
With five weeks to go, a lot of our planning is based on having a headcount. Ideally the Bash would be our last big fundraiser of the year - so we need to crush it!
 
Bash Donations Needed
We need your donations of a dessert for 8 for the Bash's Dessert Dash. Please message Heather (hkmzkm@gmail.com) with your commitment to buy or make a dessert for 8. Variety is preferred, including gluten-free options. Homemade desserts are welcome.
 
We need your donations of 22 ounce bottles of beer valued at $3 or more AND your donations of red or white wine valued at $15 or more for sale at the Bash. Please email Marci at marcianddan@yahoo.com to arrange pickup or delivery. Please do NOT bring wine or beer to school.
 
Bash Planning Meeting
If you would like to help us plan the Bernstein Bash, we’d love your help. We’ll be meeting next on Tuesday, October 22 at 6:00 pm. We’ll be discussing donations, decorations, and everything else it takes to make this a great event. For more info, please contact Jessica at jess_jon@msn.com.
 
Our committee is specifically looking for new leads on:
OLCC permit lead: you need comfort completing forms, document preparation, ability to pay fees until reimbursed, and to complete a multi-step process. Ideally you would have several years to go as a JMS parent. Message Jessica at jess_jon@msn.com if you can take this on.
 
Bartender Coordinator: you need comfort communicating via text and ability to follow-up on a set calendar. Ideally you would have several years to go as a JMS parent. Message Jessica at jess_jon@msn.com if you can take this on.
