1801 Green Bay Road Subdivision Next Steps
Next Meeting on the Topic: Thursday, October 17
At their September 25 meeting, the Plan Commission recommended that the Village Board review and consider approval of a preliminary plat of subdivision for 1801 Green Bay Road. With this recommendation, the topic will be on the October 17 Village Board meeting agenda for discussion, review and consideration. Should the Board approve the preliminary plat of subdivision, the proposal will return to the Plan Commission for final plat of subdivision review at a future meeting. Zoning Commission Recommendations Re: Potential Recreational Cannabis Businesses in Glencoe

Following the Village Board’s request that they do so, the Zoning Commission held a public hearing on Monday, October 7. The Commission heard presentations and public comment and deliberated potential Zoning Code amendments should recreational cannabis businesses be allowed to operate in Glencoe. The Zoning Commission’s non-binding recommendations were that should the businesses be allowed, they should be considered a special use in the HF district (along Frontage Road, west of the Edens Expressway). Note that no decision has been made as to whether to allow recreational cannabis businesses in Glencoe, nor has the Village received a business license application from a potential business.
As a point of background, recreational cannabis businesses operating in Glencoe has been a topic of discussion at multiple public meetings over the course of the past few months, as state-wide legalization approaches on January 1. The process to date has focused on gathering information and feedback from the public. Up next: the Village Board will formally consider whether or not to allow recreational cannabis businesses to operate in Glencoe, and if so, where and with what regulations. Sound complicated? Residents are invited to stop by Village Hall for a fun morning with Public Safety on Saturday, October 12 between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Meet Public Safety Officers, explore police and fire vehicles, take a tour of the station and more! Fall Leaf Collection Program Begins October 28
 Due to unseasonably warm weather, the Village's annual curbside leaf collection program is anticipated to begin at the end of October on Monday, October 28. However, the program could begin earlier depending upon weather and leaf fall. The Village will share additional information with the community as the program start date approaches.
