CNHED Workforce Development WG
Hello <<First Name>>,

In advance, we want to thank you for participating in #WorkforceWednesday, today, as part of Community Development Week!  As you know, workforce is a part of community development, and CD Week is a great opportunity for you to spotlight your organization's programs and services.

To assist you, CNHED drafted a communications guide, below, for you all to use. The guide is focused around Twitter, but the same principles apply on Facebook and Instagram.

#WorkforceWednesday Communications Guide

Prompts:
  • Post a picture of a participant in your program (with permission!) and tell their story
  • Talk about your impact “by the numbers”
  • Post a picture of a staff member and highlight their work – or post a group photo!
  • If you have one, post a picture of your official or unofficial office mascot
  • List your top three:
    • Resume tips
    • Career tips
    • Interview tips
    • Others
  • Post a link to a recent blog post, news article, or achievement of yours
General Guidelines:
  • Workforce Wednesday is used by workforce organizations around the country, so be sure to tag @CNHED and #CDWeek so we can find and share your post!
  • To maximize the impact, like, retweet, and comment on other members’ posts
  • Images catch the eye more than text
  • Video is better than images, but keep it short – about 30 seconds – and engaging
Sample Tweets:
  • [Organization] is proud to be a part of #CDWeek with @CNHED! As part of #WorkforceWednesday, we’re highlighting the impact that workforce providers have in the District. Check out what we do at [organizationalwebsite.com] #CommunityDevelopment
  • Happy #WorkforceWednesday! As part of #CDWeek, [Organization] is partnering with @CNHED to celebrate the incredible contributions that workforce providers make to the District. Check out the full list of events at bit.ly/CDWeek2019!
  • On this #WorkforceWednesday, [organization] wants to highlight the incredible contributions that other workforce providers make to the District [tag people!]. @CNHED’s #CDWeek is all about the impact that #communitydevelopment has, and DC wouldn’t be the same without them.
