From the Desk of Our Executive Director

There have been several staff additions in the past couple of months that we believe will add considerably to our marketing ability and help us raise significantly more money for our recommended nonprofits, which is our primary mission.

We have contracted with the Seattle-based website design company, Bilberrry, to redesign our website to make it much more user-friendly and engaging. Our marketing team is working closely with the talented and mission-aligned team at Bilberrry on the exciting changes that will become visible on Giving Tuesday, December 3rd. Our new site will help us promote our value proposition — Smart Giving Simplified from the Head and the Heart. More about all that next month.

We also have recently added considerable internal strength to our marketing team. Kristin Silady has joined us as Vice President of Communications.  Kristin has a Masters in Business Administration in brand management from Boston College and she oversees The Life You Can Save’s public relations and marketing strategies designed to increase donations to recommended charities and to expand the organization’s impact. Kristin has more than 15 years of experience in public relations, sales, brand management, and marketing with prior roles at The Oprah Winfrey Network, Starz Entertainment, Neutrogena, AstraZeneca, and GE Healthcare.

We are really grateful and excited that Neela Saldanha, our new Board member, has volunteered, part-time, to join our day-to-day marketing work. She has a PhD in Marketing from Wharton, a graduate school of The University of Pennsylvania. She joined PepsiCo in New York where she led insights for the Global Snacks Group and at the PepsiCo Design Centre. Neela also has vast experience in the nonprofit sector including having served as the Founding Director of the Centre for Social and Behaviour Change (CSBC) at Ashoka University. CSBC is funded by a grant from The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

We have also added social media expert and entrepreneur Bruce Munster to our growing marketing team as our Social Media Manager. Bruce brings extensive experience, with both paid and unpaid promotions on all of the major platforms, to The Life You Can Save.  Bruce has had prior roles at Morgan Stanley and Merrill Lynch in addition to starting his own watch company, Munster & Co.

So lots of big changes leading up to very exciting “Giving Season” announcements. Stay tuned….

Do Good. Feel Good.
