"The border means more than a customs house, a passport officer, a man with a gun. Over there everything is going to be different; life is never going to be quite the same again after your passport has been stamped."

Happy Thanksgiving!

I'm a day early, but wanted to get this newsletter out before being consumed by the holiday feast and Black Friday shopping. The year is almost up, and I want to update you on where I've been, where I'm going and what to look forward to in 2020.

Since my last newsletter (it's been awhile!), I've been to Lisbon, Rio de Janeiro, Dubai, San Francisco and a few other cities. While I don't have much to share from those trips just yet, I do want to continue my tradition of sharing a photo taken since the last newsletter.

Four wheelchairs tied down in an accessible bus.

Two things about the photo above. First, I traveled to Portugal with some of my absolute best friends in the accessible travel blogging world. Allow me to introduce you to Emma of Simply Emma (UK), Blandine of Mille découvertes sur 4 roulettes (France) and Sanna of Palmuasema (Finland). Also pictured is Annemarie of The Sitting Chef (Netherlands).

We had a great time in Portugal, and that brings me to some exciting news. Next year, for the first time ever, I will be joining WheelchairTravel.org readers on an accessible group trip to Portugal. The full itinerary and pricing will be announced in January. To get the scoop before anyone else, please add your e-mail address to the mailing list at www.openyourworld.net.

Looking ahead

Next week, I will be traveling to London to join my friends for a holiday party. London is one of my favorite cities, and you can read about it in the London Wheelchair Travel Guide.

On Saturday, December 14, I will be giving an accessible travel workshop at the first-ever Abilities Expo in Dallas, Texas. Registration is free!

Below, please find links to new articles and content published recently!

All the best,
— John Morris
