Pat on the Back for a Great Party!

Wow, I'm still aglow from the fantastic party last night.  It was a very special evening and I agree, pretty much 100%.  The hall came together so perfectly, transforming it from a relatively bare room to one that was so colorful and beautifully decorated with many, many meaningful and great memories.  I loved the silent slide show.  Thank you so much Dale for bringing your new screen and setting everything up for the slide show. You had a ton of stuff to bring so a huge thank you for taking the time to put it all together, making the evening run so smoothly.  I also want to acknowledge Melanie for planning and sketching out the room layout beforehand (tables, chairs, main course, dessert and drink tables, and display areas, etc.), making set up relatively seamless.  And most of you probably didn't notice Melanie (with Rick and my help) preparing and presenting the big BIFD banner so aesthetically.  I'm not sure who displayed the costumes, I believe Jane and several others, which added another whole dimension, especially with the French Canadian costume on the mannequin.  So many things that brought back such happy memories from our years together.  I know Chrisanne and many, many others were behind the scenes making sure all the little details were taken care.  Also a big thank you to Connie for the gorgeous flower arrangement she made and donated for the raffle.  Lucky Valerie who won the raffle!  Also, a big thank you to Val and Anne for greeting people as they arrived, checking them in and handing out name tags and the club music CDs.  Everyone seemed to show up at once, so I know it got a little frenetic.   It should also be noted that Dale printed the names for all the name tags and also organized and put the club CDs together, including designing and printing the labels.  And Sophie made all the lovely paper flower arrangements for the tables.  The Pirates also added another component with the live music.  It was really lovely to see so many people in costume, adding to the ambience and spirit of the party.  There were so many other highlights, including seeing former BIFD members we haven't seen in years.  And it was really nice that people from the Surrey, Aberthau and Kitka dance groups came to celebrate with us!  As well as Ariel coming in all the way from Chilliwack.  It's pretty amazing that we were able to dance all 40 club dances on time, especially ending with many dancers still there to join in with the candle dance.  A really lovely way to end, what was an amazing and perfect evening.  - Lori Larsen

How to get there:

From the North, go South on I-5, take the Meridian Street Exit and turn right. From Meridian, take the 3rd right (2nd traffic light) onto Squalicum Way. From the South, you can take Holly Street through town to "F" Street. Turn left onto F street toward the water and across the train tracks to Roeder. Turn right onto Roeder Ave Continue on Roeder to Coho Way (City Mac Store) Turn Left onto Coho Way. The first possible right is "N. Harbor Loop Drive".
