Calla Lilly
Latin: Zantedeschia
Native from South Africa north to Malawi
Although they are called Calla Lilies, Zantedeschia are niether lilies or Callas. They are rhizomatous, herbaceous, perennials meaning that they spread underground from their tubers with rhizomes spreading from the original planting. Their unique flower shape makes them prized for ornamental gardens and for cuttings. There are currently eight recognized species. Neat!
