TODAY -- CNN and Turner Broadcasting Info. Session (FREE PIZZA!)
Tonight, from 5-6:30 p.m. in Carroll 33, Nick Levan, a Turner Broadcasting Recruiter (works specifically with CNN, HLN and Research Internships) and Lauren O'Byrne, Turner Broadcasting Recruiter (works specifically with Turner sports and entertainment properties) will be holding an info. session for interested students. 

Turner's news and sports group includes CNN, Turner Sports and Bleacher Report. Warner Media Entertainment includes cable networks TNT, TBS and truTV.

Crash Campaign
Crash Campaign is a fast-paced student competition that takes place over 24 hours in the Hussman School of Journalism and Media on Nov. 8 - 10. Students are able to participate in a unique professional opportunity that allows them to gain experience and showcase their talent. Students compete in teams to solve local business and nonprofit marketing problems using learned skills.

Multicultural Advertising Internship Program
The American Association of Advertising Agencies (4A's), selects students to work at prestigious advertising agencies throughout the U.S., interact with advertising professionals, and gain valuable professional credentials to land
 that first job in the industry. The program not only pairs students with top agencies throughout the country and ensures paid internship experience, but also provides subsidized travel and housing in their host agency city.

It's a 22-week fellowship program (12 weeks of virtual online training and a 10-week agency internship experience)that will help students hone their skills in one of eighteen disciplines—including PR. Learn more about each discipline here.

Sports Media Internships -- Association for Women in Sports Media / Multiple Locations
AWSM will award up to eight female college students a $1,000 scholarship and placement in a paid internship in one of four fields: sports writing, broadcast production, social media and media relations.

The 2019 AWSM scholars spent their summers working at ESPN, MLB.com, USA Today, CNN, the Sporting News, Sports Illustrated and USA Softball. The 2020 placements will be announced at a later date.

Fall Internship Program -- Warren for President / Remote
The Warren for President team is building a grassroots movement and needs your help. They need skilled organizers, communicators, writers, designers, wonks and more who are interested in applying their talents and learning new skills to help make big, structural change. 

Interns will play a key role in helping build the grassroots organization they need to win the Democratic nomination for president. They will participate in campaign training, receive structured coaching and support, and work closely with staff to implement their plan to persuade and mobilize Democratic voters.

Audience Producer -- WAMU 88.5 / Washington, DC
WAMU 88.5 is the leading public radio station for news and information in the greater Washington, D.C. area. Deeply committed to the D.C. metro area, WAMU 88.5 produces distinctive programming that reflects the unique environment of our region and connects Washingtonians with each other and the world.

The Audience Producer serves as the primary editorial voice for the WAMU newsroom on social media. The position is also the driving force behind the newsroom’s daily editorial newsletter. In collaboration with newsroom leadership, the Audience Producer develops multi-platform audience engagement plans for reporters, beats, individual stories, special projects and other initiatives. The position moderates online conversations across multiple platforms and executes social media coverage during breaking news and major regional events. The Audience Producer uses analytics to inform content decisions and shares questions and themes presented by WAMU’s audience to newsroom leadership.

Rubenstein seeks an Account Coordinator to provide public relations support for account executives and account teams across the firm.

The Account Coordinator will assist with media research and outreach, presentations, and project coordination; build media lists and databases; and compile client reports. Additionally, the Account Coordinator will respond to basic client and media requests. This role may also have writing, proofreading and pitching responsibilities.

Associate Director for Communications and Strategy -- UNC Center for the Study of the American South / Chapel Hill, NC

The Associate Director for Communications and Strategy at the Center for the Study of the American South leads the work to deliver the Center’s scholarship and research directly to public audiences, including the work of the Southern Oral History Program (SOHP), Southern Cultures (SC), and the pan-University Southern Futures initiative. He or she will extend the Center’s academic work to impact local, regional, and national issues. Communicating with partners is an important aspect of this leadership, and the Associate Director will set, guide and implement the strategy for all such communications activities including: messaging and content development, website, news media placement, social media, and collateral materials designed to advance the partnerships that enhance the Center’s research and publication, increase its visibility, and engage its target audiences.

The Associate Director will support purposeful partnerships with on- and off-campus partners to bring community concerns in direct relationship to the Center’s research and publication work. The Associate Director will assist the Director in implementing organization-wide strategic plans. Reporting to the Center’s Director, this position is part of the Center’s leadership team and is responsible for a communications budget. This position will supervise a permanent employee (to be hired), undergraduate interns, and/or independent contractors.

Graphic Designer -- UNC Admissions / Chapel Hill, NC

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill seeks a creative, committed, and clear-minded professional to fill the position of Graphic Designer in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. This graphic designer will join the communications team to develop integrated marketing efforts designed to help the University recruit and enroll a diverse and talented student body while celebrating the achievements of prospective students and providing great care to those students, their families, and all others who interact with the office. This position will work to lead all design efforts in order to create integrated communications and marketing concepts , intelligently designed with appropriate executions across numerous platforms including print, email, digital, video, and social media, collaborate with other members of the communications team and assume primary responsibility for designing communications efforts. This position requires the ability to work in a team environment and is responsible for collaborating to execute all phases of communications — including design concept development, timeline management, production, and delivery of design concepts across multiple channels (e.g. print, digital, video, and email). This position will have primary responsibility for the design-related aspects of communications efforts, which requires the ability to fully understand and embrace the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill brand, empathize with and understand the motivations of the Office’s various audiences, and monitor and master emerging design trends and practices.

Marketing and Communications Manager -- Carolina Performing Arts / Chapel Hill, NC

Reporting to the Associate Director of Marketing and Communications, the Marketing and Communications Manager will be responsible for developing and managing Carolina Performing Arts (CPA) marketing content in support of all promotional and communications efforts. Information and Communications Specialist -- NC Department of Environmental Quality / Carteret County, NC

The primary purposes of this position is to support the mission of the DEQ's Division of Coastal Management in Morehead City through communications and outreach. The position is responsible for dissemination of error-free information in a customer-centric, concise, timely and professional manner that can be understood by the general public. The position provides effective communications to DEQ employees and other internal audiences by actively supporting DEQ and Division leadership and administrative support groups.
