Join the Cherry Hills Land Preserve and two Audubon volunteers as we tour the nature trail in the west pasture and the pond south of the Quincy Farm. The Bird Walk will be a great opportunity to look for the nest hosting the great horned owls that call the area home. We will also walk down to the pond to observe and learn about the birds that live and migrate through the area.
Sound like your kind of adventure? RSVP today! Space is limited.
Owl Fun Fact
Horns? Or feathers?
The great horned owl gets its name from the tufts of feathers on its head that look like ears. But the owl's ears are really farther down on the side of its head, and are just openings in the skull hidden beneath feathers. https://kids.sandiegozoo.org/animals/great-horned-owl
A few notes:
Parking is available along Quincy Ave.
If you can, please walk or bike to the farm – there is access off the High Line Canal south of Quincy Ave.
Cars will be allowed into the farm to drop off attendees but only visitors with disability placards will be able to park at the farm.
Although we love our furry friends, our feathered neighbors get spooked by them.
Please leave your dogs at home for this event.
Thank you!
