Dear Praying Brothers and Sisters,
Praise God! Maria trusted Christ as her Savior as we were preaching to the Kapagu people who fled from their village. When we asked her if she was ready to accept Christ now or if she wanted to go back to her house and think about it, she responded emphatically, “I cannot go back to my home now. What if I die?” She then bowed her head and accepted Christ. She is not from Kapagu, but rather Simbu, so please pray as Monday we try to get her plugged into a Baptist church with a Pastor from Simbu.
Peace mediations continue with Kapagu this Thursday. Please pray! True peace will only come as they give themselves to Christ. Tremendous success has been made on the road! Men have been moving stones bigger than themselves! Thank you for your sacrificially giving. $4,000 has been committed for the road. This will meet the need for the present. Lord willing, we will have road access by the first week of November for a mobile clinic.
Many thanks to all who have told us they are sending boxes of highlighters and color pencils. The first box arrived on Monday. The kids loved the colored pencils. Highlighters are for next week. :)
We are getting ready to place the next order for Bibles and textbooks for Goroka Baptist Bible College and would like to raise $19,000 for Bibles and Textbooks for this upcoming year. We leave shortly to go minister to a family and a widow from Akeipagu whose houses burned to the ground. Can you imagine the desperation of watching the few belongings you
have turn to ashes in a matter of minutes?Providentially, we are teaching on Hell tonight as we move through the story of hope. Please pray for the vivid pictures stamped in their minds to make them see their need for Christ.
