September 2019
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

We want to thank each and every one of you who has been praying for us as we have been going through this shocking and difficult time. We know that God is faithful and just and He will do what is necessary to bring about His glory through all of this. We continue to pray for the repentance and salvation of our foreman and ask God to forgive him in his weakness. Thank you for your prayers! It helps us get through each day, trying to see things through the eyes of Jesus. How He would react and handle this situation. May He continue to give us wisdom and help.

The house is two months behind schedule, but now we are about 90% done. The main thing we are waiting on is the approval for the electric line to be brought in. The water system has been installed and the small water holding tank has been hooked up. The windows and doors just got installed this week! We are excited about that! We still need to get some furniture and curtains and the rods and put those up too. Our hope is that we will be able to start cleaning the house and maybe move into our new home by mid-November! Our children start arriving to come visit us from mid-December! We are soooo excited to have them come and visit us and make it a home complete! Our dreams are coming true, and we want to thank you for your financial help and support and giving towards this home too! We are still hurting financially to complete it, but we know God knows about it and is providing through His children.
N-Shan News
Pastor Saithoon and his wife Adu openly invited the N-Shan people to come and visit his home and church. About ten people accepted and showed up. Saithoon and Adu hosted them for three days, feeding them and teaching them to wash their hands before eating and how to take a bath and wash their clothes. These things may seem normal for us, but these people are like nomads. They don't wash their clothes or take baths. They were very, very stinky! Saithoon also invited them into church and did a devotional-type meeting with storytelling and also Saithoon's children and his boarders sang songs and some skits to share the Gospel. The N-Shan people were very interested and enjoyed their time there.
This time one older person told Saithoon that he wants to know more about this God, this Jesus we believe in! God is really starting to soften and open up the hearts of these people. This man is very influential in his village, so if he becomes a follower of Christ, the whole village might be saved! Keep praying for this kind of miracle! These people do not usually associate with outsiders. They don't travel anywhere, not even into the city except once or twice a year for supplies and by permission only. So this is a BIG change for them to come and ask questions about who Jesus is. So keep praying for new hearts and newness of life for these people.
Joel's travels
Please keep Joel in your prayers as he travels into Burma by car. It will take them about four days straight of driving before they reach Myitkyina city. He left on September 25th and will be gone until the 29th of October. We will share news about this next time after he gets back.

Please keep me (Marilyn) in your prayers too as l have to oversee all the construction details of our home. Pray God will give me wisdom and that all the workers will also work diligently and faithfully until all is completed.

Thank you for all your prayers and the letters of encouragement that you wrote to us at this difficult time. It was so wonderful to hear from you. May God bless you and keep you in the palm of His hands and keep you sheltered from harm, dangers, and sickness.

All our love,
Joel and Marilyn Khopang

FORWARDING AGENTS CORNER

We are finally feeling (almost) settled into our new home! We've unpacked most of our boxes (we still have maybe a handful left), we've hung up our pictures, and furnished our rooms (for the most part). We plan on having a housewarming party in the next couple of weeks to celebrate. One of our major projects that we are very close to completing is building a fire pit in our backyard. It has been hard and frustrating to say the least. I can only imagine what Joel and Marilyn are going through on a much larger scale! We are enjoying being homeowners and working on projects in and around our house. Our neighborhood is great, lots of parks and trails (we love to run and bike) and we have a cute little "downtown" Cottleville with shops and restaurants close by. We've also found a church nearby that we like and have been attending regularly. They currently meet out of the local YMCA building, but have plans to move into their own building in November! Thanks everyone for bearing with us during our time of transition as we get used to our new home and our new jobs and schedules. Sorry if we have been a little less timely lately!
Thank you and God bless,
Jon and Marissa
