20,000 Participants Celebrated Martial Arts & Sport for All


The 1st TAFISA World Martial Arts Festival celebrated the diversity and benefits that Martial Arts can bring to society as delegations from all around the world presented their Martial Arts to 20,000 spectators through performances, demonstrations, clinics, master classes and connected events in Ulyanovsk, Russia. | Read More....

25 Countries, 30 Martial Arts Styles

Introducing over 30 Martial Arts styles from around the world, with 25 countries represented in Ulyanovsk, the Festival showcased both traditional and modern Martial Arts not only as forms of sport or art, but also displaying how Martial Arts can be utilised to positively change the lives of people. Spectators had various opportunities to actively try out and practice the many disciplines present in Russia, experiencing first hand the fun of being active. Delegations also traveled to schools across the Ulyanovsk Region and introduced their disciplines to children. 
During the Festival, the Ulyanovsk Region hosted more than 30 master classes led by internationally renowned masters, providing around 3,000 martial artists with unique opportunities to learn and further improve their art and skills.

Developing Martial Arts for a Better World

The Festival was concluded with a Forum on "Martial Arts and Sport for All - For a Better World", further emphasising the need for a change of paradigm in the Martial Arts world and bringing organisations to work together to make Martial Arts more accessible and inclusive, and tap their full potential to create a better world. On this occasion, TAFISA presented the TAFISA Martial Arts Awards to individuals who used Martial Arts to build a better world. | Read More....

TAFISA would like to especially thank the Ulyanovsk Region Government, Russian Union of Martial Arts, Ulcongress and the many volunteers for their essential contribution in making the Festival an outstanding success, as well as the international delegations who came a long way to join the event, martial artists from Russia and abroad, martial arts organisations from Ulyanovsk who hosted many events during the Festival, and the people of Ulyanovsk for their warm hospitality.
